Clapp, Frederick Bruce

Frederick “Bruce” Clapp, 72 passed away surrounded by his family on September 122024 at Thompson Hospital. Bruce was born April 20,1952 in Toronto Canada to Annie Elizabeth (Evelyn) Clapp and Frederick Currie Clapp. He was brother to Diane (Doug) Zornow. He remained a proud Canadian the remainder of his life. He was a graduate of Brighton High School Class of 1970, Monroe County Community College 1972 and SUNY Potsdam 1974. Bruce went on to have a long career at Kodak. 

A lover of nature, Bruce shared his passion for the outdoors with those closest to him at a remote family cottage tucked away in the hills of “God’s Country”, Canada. He could be found reading, taking photographs, fishing, walking the dog, enjoying an afternoon in the woods, star gazing or dancing to the radio, fingers pointed in the air… for the kids, grandkids and any others who looked on for the laugh of it all.

Survived by his daughter Elizabeth Clapp (Dan Martello) grand daughter Adalina Martello, son Seamus Clapp (Valerie Clapp) grandchildren Lily Reiley, Wyatt and Flynt, Nephew Mark (Leslie) Zornow, niece Tracy Zornow (Ricky Torrez), grand nieces Abby and Erin Zornow, Uncle Donald Sullivan and family. 

Family and friends are invited to join us at Keenan’s Funeral Home, 41 South Main St.  Fairport, NY September 25th  from 3-6pm to reminisce and to honor the life of “Bruce”. Family will give a brief eulogy at 5pm, there will be a gathering at Mulconry’s Irish Pub to follow with light refreshments.

    Elizabeth and Seamus, Bruce was my oldest friend. One of my last good memories was when I brought him back to my house and we sat on the deck reminiscing about all our adventures together, which were many. I will miss his company greatly. Bob dewey.
