Fairport: November 28, 2014. Predeceased by wife, Catherine; son, Francis. Survived by children, Julia (Dan) Strom, Carolyn (Michael) Vasile, Thomas (Ann) Claus and Raymond Claus; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice VanApeldorn, Cathy Sippel, Joanne (John) Fleig; brothers, Raymond (Joanne) Claus and William (Marie) Claus; daughter-in-law, Deborah Claus; many nieces and nephews.
Carl received his Doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. He started the Chemistry Dept. at St. John fisher College, where he also served as a Professor. Carl continued his work as Director of Research and Development at Xerox Corp. where he earned 7 patents.
