Beverly Ann Cronkite, 90, of Fairport, passed away August 21, 2022.
Bev was born February 10, 1932 in Rochester NY to the late John Roberts and Martha Mort, and married Richard Cronkite on February 26, 1955. They were married for 59 years prior to his death in 2014.
Bev is survived by her children, Gail (Steve) Caird, Richard (Robin) Cronkite Jr., and John Cronkite; grandchildren Laurie (Matt) Bramlage and Stephen Caird; sisters Regina(Howard) Weatherby and LInda (Eugene) Reigle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bev graduated from Penfield High School, and regularly met with her former classmates. She worked at Kodak, as well as at Social Security as a claims consultant.
She was an active member of the Rochester Camera Club and The Penfield Art Association, and was the official photographer for VFW Post 8495. She was an award-winning artist and photographer, and found inspiration for her artwork on her travels. She and Dick traveled to every continent, and she especially enjoyed taking wildlife photos. Bev was also an avid card player, meeting regularly to play with her former Kodak co-workers. She had the luck of the “card fairy”, and won most of the “Hand and Foot” matches she played.

A celebration of life service will be held at Keenan Funeral Home, Egypt NY, at 2 pm Friday August 26. Beverly’s ashes will be scattered during a private ceremony near Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Met Beverly at Kodak Office around 1950. We kept our relationship for all these years. Started our Kodak Card Club in 1954 and still got together once a month for all these years.
We enjoyed our last meeting at her house on July 12th. Remembering all her Panorama Pictures that were in the newspaper and our last phone call. Rest in Peace Beverly.
I always loved hearing from Mom about your card club dates. She truly enjoyed and treasured her friendship with you all.
She was one of those people you meet, and you immediately know how wonderful they are. She welcomed me into the Camera Rochester club years ago and I enjoyed every meeting with her. Especially liked the mischievous twinkle in her eye whenever she was presenting a photograph and wondered if you would catch the “Easter Egg” she had slipped in. Missing you already.
Thanks for sharing that memory! She was a great photographer and loved to see just how far she could take them. She told me she first took up photography when she worked at Kodak in the 1950s and they provided free classes for employees.
Met Bev at our Grief Group… she always had a special smile and a warm caring personality… she was very talented and will be missed by many….Sylvia Ball

Gail, Rick and john, We will always cherish the times we shared with Bev and Dick over the years. Whether it was biking, canoeing, sharing a cup of coffee or a meal, there was always lots of laughs and good times.
It was so good to see you at the service! We’ve been looking at old family photos, and you two are in a lot of them–usually a bike or canoe adventure!
I met Bev when I joined Camera Rochester in 2016. She was very welcoming and very nice to me.
Thank you for sharing your memories of Mom.
Bob and I live on Harvest Rd. We met Bev as she would walk around the block. It was always a pleasure to talk with her about many things and make sure she was doing well. I have missed not seeing her and looked for her every day. Bev was a sweet woman with a wonderful twinkle in her eye. May she rest in peace. To her children, we wish you comfort and smiles in fond memories. Sending our deepest sympathy in the loss of your mom.
I wonder I if we’ve crossed paths as well–my husband and I did evening walks around Harvest while we were in town.
The FHS class of ‘77 sends its deepest sympathies to our classmate, Gail, and all the Cronkite family, on the passing of your mother. Our hearts are with you.
We appreciate all of the kind thoughts.
Sending sincere condolences on behalf of Honeywell Intelligrated Frederick facility, Rick’s work family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God grant you His comfort and peace!
Met Bev when Dick and my husband coached a Little League Team. The team never won a game but all had so much fun. Bev always had a smile on her face and
seemed to enjoy Dick’s antics. Rest in Peace, Bev.
