Michelle L. Goyette Culver
October 7, 1948 – September 5, 2025
Michelle grew up in Fairport, New York with her mother, father and four siblings, she loved baking, gardening, hiking and exploring all the beautiful moments nature provides. Shelly, as she was affectionately called by her family, later moved to Rochester, where she attended Monroe Community College. After graduation she was employed as a medical secretary with various healthcare organizations, then later retired from Greater Rochester Orthopedics to assist in caring for her mother.
Shelly was an exceptional mother, grandmother and sister who showered her family with joy and wisdom, while being an avid book reader and collector, she volunteered for several years with the Greece Public Library, a position she highly regarded.
She will always be remembered for her kind and generous spirit with a smile that will fill up a room. Often coined as “the sweetest woman”, for her loving and caring ways, she will forever be in our hearts.

Shelly is predeceased by her parents Naomi and Willard Goyette, mother and father-in-law, Lois and Donald Culver, and brother-in-law Bernard Dumka. She is survived by daughter, Jennifer Morgan and son, Andrew (Engrish) Culver, including Randy Morgan whom she considered her bonus son. Six grandchildren who loved and cherished her, Kaylee (Ken), Casey (Marc), Jacob, Bryeson, Gannon and Gavin. In addition, Shelly is survived by her “seesters” Marsha Goyette Dumka, Monica Goyette (John) Sozio, Jo Dargie (Loren) and brother Jon (Kathleen) Goyette.

By way of a previous marriage, Shelly was blessed to gain another seven siblings whom she loved and truly considered her bonus siblings: Van (Maureen) Culver, Corky Culver, Bonnie Vernarelli, Kathy Gapasen, Brian Culver, and Toby Culver.
Her beloved cat, Blue, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, along with her best friends Doreen Bradford, Nancy Francione and Sharon Finkbeiner.

Calling Hours Sunday September 14, 2025 12-2PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. Funeral Mass Monday September 15, 2025 10AM at St. John of Rochester Church 8 Wickford Way, Fairport. The mass will also be livestreamed at https://stjohnfairport.org/streaming.

Big seester- we will miss all the love and caring you gave us, your crazy sense of humor and teasing, being included in your endless prayer list every night, trying to beat you every morning doing the NYT’s games but seldom succeeding – especially when you could do the Mini Crossword in a matter of seconds! And on behalf of the endless cats who always found you where ever you lived, who wanted a safe home, we are making a donation to Lollipop Farm in your memory.

  2. I worked with Michele at the Greece Public Library and got to know her. She was a sweet lady who enjoyed books other things. We will miss her, my sincere sympathy the family. Pat Quadrini

  3. My family will truly miss Michelle and especially the banana nut bread I got at Christmas when I was in Rochester
    Michelle had a beautiful soul that I felt when ever she was in my present and I wlill miss her for sure. My deepest sympathy to the family God called another Angel Home. S.I.P. Michelle me and Andy will carry on for your Buffalo Bills .
