DeCoste, Dolores Marie

Dolores Marie DeCoste

Dolores passed away suddenly on September 21, 2023

Pre -deceased by her beloved son William and her parents, Philomena and Ralph Fazzone.

Survived by her loving husband William, daughter-in-law MariLu DeCoste, grandchildren, Tommy, Sam and C.J. DeCoste.

Dolores was born in Schenectady, New York. She attended Union College. While out at a concert with friends, Dolores met Bill, the love of her life! They met in August and were married by that December, spending almost 61 beautiful years together.

Bill’s job took them to Gross Pt, Michigan. They spent several years there and then decided to move to Pittsford, New York. This is where they raised their son Bill and made their forever home.

Dolores worked in personnel for General Electric, then became part owner of IPS Computer Systems with her husband Bill. After Bill retired, Dolores worked as the Director of the Senior Center for the Town of Pittsford. It was in this position, where her kindness, generousity and warm heart shined. Dolores helped many Seniors navigate the ups and downs of life. Her kindness and dedication to help others will not be forgotten.

Family was first for Dolores. She was so proud of her son Bill, daughter-in-law MariLu and their three wonderful sons. Dolores adored her grandsons and looked forward to every visit. She enjoyed texting with her grandsons and all the baked ziti dinners she would bake them, especially, when her grandson Sam would help make the ziti with her.

Dolores will be missed dearly. In memory of Dolores, practice kindness.

Services will be private.

I met Dolores when the Senior Center was on Monroe Avenue. Instantly, I felt how professional, loving, caring, and friendly she was with everyone. We all adored her. Dolores and I had many discussions in her office in the renovated Pittsford Recreation building and she always had the office door open for anyone who had questions or just wanted to say “hi.” Dolores, RIP and I know how much you were loved by me and many, many others. You are truly missed.❤️❤️

I worked with Dolores in the Pittsford Senior Center office for 15 years. She was such a good and caring person and fun to be around. She always had time for everyone and helped in many ways. We miss her so very much. It will never be the same without her.

  4. Delores was the greatest boss anyone could work with. Her office door was always open to anyone that had a problem or just wanted someone to talk to. Delores was always aware of problems working with seniors and we often had discussions.

  6. As a member of the Senior Citizens Program, I was able to spend time with Delores and get to know her as an Angel for all and a role model for AGAPE she felt for everyone. Much of her work was done behind the scenes and was available to anyone in need of services and comfort. She never missed a beat and always on point. God will definitely have her coordinating with the other Angels in heaven. In Loving Memory: Maria Smith
