I want to say what a great Woman Maryann was. Words cannot describe her strength and goodness. I only knew Maryann for a few years after my sister, Cathy Wangler Spriggs moved to Fairport. Maryann was always there when anyone needed anything, She was a true good neighbor and friend to my sister, My sister loved Maryann and Moe very much, We grew to love and appreciate Maryann too. She changed our lives for the better and we will not forget her or her kindness and goodness. She set an example as to how we are supposed to live. I know no words can console you at this time. But I pray that God may ease your grief and comfort your spirit. God Bless Maryann and you her family.
Sincerely Mike Wangler 505 Sycamore Terr DeWitt NY 13214,

    To the Delfino family,
I am a neighbor of Maryann at Village Heights. I always saw her out and about with her cute little dog. Either out walking the dog or relaxing in the lobby or patio. She always had a kind word and a smile. Always also seemed to be organizing something for the residents here at Village Heights. I will miss her and her cute smile. I know she had some other challenges but that didn’t keep her down. A great example to me of positivity.
This is a tragic loss for your family, and it will be difficult for a time. But you can all take comfort in the great memories that you have all shared together to help you in the coming times. My deepest sympathies to you and yours.

    Rocky,
So sorry to hear about your Mom, know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and family at this time.

  6. Rocky & Famiglia:

Your Mother, along with myself, are one the “originals” here at Village Heights since it’s inception 6 years ago. Maryann was kind, quietly observant and had a terrific smile everytime we saw each other. I know that Moe, her schnauzer, which she daily walked is missing her as well. Hi

God bless your Mother and yourselves as you navigate this difficult time.

  7. My dear sweet friend,
I miss you so much it hurts, I can’t take Ana out ( Moes lady friend) without tearing up, you were a great friend to me and i’m so thankful to have meant you and shared so many laughs.
You loved your family and friends so much… and we all loved you
Until we meet again, I love you… Lorrie

We are so very sorry to hear about your mom. Both your parents were so loving to us the minute we moved next door and instantly we felt like we had another set of “grandparents” living next door!!! Rest in peace Mar… you were such a strong beautiful person!! I’m grateful to have known you and your family.

  10. We are so grateful for Maryann, for the time spent with her and for our life long memories! We met at Village Heights when Mom, Catherine Wangler Spriggs moved in.

Maryann welcomed us in and has been a blessing ever since. She always made time to visit in the forum, check in, offer a kind and encouraging word, give a hug, or see if you needed anything.

She and Moe would stop in, watch part of a Hallmark show, 15 minutes of the news, invite us to the Friday night movie (in the downstairs theatre), sit outside on the porch and talk, paint rocks, share meals, or decorate for the holidays/special occasions.

Maryann loved her family and friends, she was thoughtful, kind, and compassionate. She was always willing to lend a helpful hand. She was a faithful believer in God and she devoted her time, energy and heart to all those around her. She would sit and listen and share stories. She’d plan and organize with a few committee members, the annual end of summer picnic, and the winter holiday gathering, where everyone would come, eat, drink, listen to music, sing, dance, and have fun.

She always ensured the forum was decorated for the holidays. She was a doer and she’d do whatever she could for others while spreading positivity. She would offer a cold glass of water, tend to a sick friend, crush a pill, fluff a pillow, or hold your hand. Maryann was a “sister-friend” to each of us, a closeness, a love, a bond existed between us. We loved sharing breakfast at Rick’s or FairPour’s, and lunch at Fairport Village Inn or Fairfield’s. We all loved, trusted, and appreciated Maryann. She was brave, she loved life, and she will live in our hearts, minds, and stories forever.

Rocky, Andrea, Debra, Little Rocky, and Little Moe are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Love and Blessings,
Deb (Doug), Michelle (Jeff), Rose, Mike, and JJ

Rocky, Andrea, Debra, Little Rocky, and Little Moe,
I am truly saddened to read about your mother’s passing. I met your mom when I was your sister’s third grade teacher at Northside School. Your mom was a supportive, dedicated parent who adored the two of you and your dad.
When Debra’s life was taken so early, I was on my honeymoon, and didn’t know about this tragedy. I truly loved working with your sister, a quiet, reserved student who worked diligently.
May your memories of your family warm your heart. God bless…
