Wendy “Bird” Naomi DeMarzo (nee Mack)
June 13, 1952 – May 8, 2026
Wendy passed away suddenly on May 8, 2026, leaving behind her husband Frank DeMarzo (married for 48 years) and a daughter and grandson. She is predeceased by her son, Jared DeMarzo, and her parents Donald and Gertrude Mack. Wendy is survived by sisters Gwen (Lee) Irving, Rebecca (Carl) McNamara, and Erika (Paul) McBride, brothers Alan (Laura Westfall) Mack, and David (Margaret Smith) Mack, along with numerous nieces and nephews and an untold number of friends.
Wendy graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. She spent her working years as a hospital pharmacist, with her career culminating in the position of Head of Pharmacy at the Rochester Psychiatric Center. She was a dedicated healthcare professional who provided the highest quality care and service to patients.
Upon her retirement, Wendy was able to devote herself to her favorite pastimes. Besides pursuing her many craft projects, gardening, and spending time with her cats, she enjoyed relaxing at her cottage on Keuka Lake. She always felt most at home near water and could spend hours looking for sea glass and seashells, and observing wildlife. Her favorite time was spent with her grandson, watching him grow and develop his own interests. Wendy taught him how to fish using her father’s fishing pole and this has continued to be one of his favorite activities.
Wendy was known by friends and family as having a big heart and being fiercely dedicated to her loved ones. She was a supportive and nurturing mother and grandmother. She was exceptionally intelligent as well as passionate regarding justice and fairness. She became an outspoken advocate in recent years, dedicating herself to the protection and defense of others. She was selfless and always ready to help someone in a difficult situation, even at the expense of her own time and interests.
Wendy will forever be loved and missed by those who knew her. Her passing has left a large hole in the hearts of many. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose…All that we love deeply becomes a part of us” (Helen Keller).
Funeral services will be held at White Haven Memorial Park on June 1, 2026 from 9:00am to 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Keuka Lake Association (keukalakeassociation.org) in Wendy’s honor.

This was such a shock to hear about. I was an aide for Wendy’s neighbor Ann. Wendy was such an advocate for Ann and a true testament for doing the right thing and having a moral compass and empathy. All though I didn’t know Wendy that long her caring and honest nature left a lasting impression that I will always remember. May she be in peace now

I wish I had known Wendy. However, I understand the kind of person she was because she instilled in her daughter the best values and beliefs. She is an amazing human being.She will miss her mother, but will carry her memories forever in her heart and mind. My sincere condolences to her daughter, father, and the whole family.
