Margaret was a kind and patient person who loved to visit with her family and friends, always with a smile on her face and an easy laugh. Prior to being home with her children, Margaret worked at Lincoln Rochester Trust Company where she and Paul first started dating.
Margaret was a great cook and baker, and her meals were always eaten together as a family. Margaret and Paul created “Margaret’s Little Blue Cookbook” which held a collection of her recipes, many of them labeled “this is Paul’s favorite”. Margaret’s tradition of baking cookies was the catalyst for the Annual Derleth Family Christmas Cookie Contest. Another annual tradition was her Halloween Parties for her grandchildren. She delighted in dressing up and turned each Halloween into a cherished, fun-filled gathering.
Margaret and Paul were true soulmates and thoroughly enjoyed being in each other’s company. They had an amazing life together full of joy and love. Family was their priority which was instilled in their children. They were often found supporting their children and grandchildren’s activities, enjoying birds and gardening in their backyard. Their faith played an important role and were parishioners at St. John of Rochester Church in Fairport for many decades. Margaret was blessed with many cherished friendships throughout her life. Enjoying time with her friends painting, playing Mahjong, attending Garden Club, Book Club, and Women’s Club at Church.
