Rodney was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He spent most of his career in the machining and tool & die making trade, working for the both Xerox and Motorola corporations, when he wasn’t golfing. Rodney was a sweet and loving man with an enormous heart and a quick wit. He cared deeply for his family and friends alike and his kind and giving soul will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 am at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home located at 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport, NY 14450. This will be a casual affair and the wearing of golf shirts and shorts is highly encouraged. The Service will also be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/@ExtonMediaServices/featured.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to the RDGA, whose Youth on Course program offers the opportunity for young people to discover the game of golf. As a life-long player himself, I think he would really appreciate their work in growing the next generation of golfers.

This is beautiful, Tim. Thank you for all you’re doing to honor your Dad in a way that would make him happy!!
Uncle Rodney was the best! He was always calm and had a great smile that would benefit all of us. I will miss him.
Grandpa Rodney was an absolutely amazing grandpa. I can vividly remember him always greeting you with a “Hey partner” or a “howdy partner”. Rest well grandpa. Love you 🙏🏻
– I always loved him as my favorite Uncle and what a funny, kind and compassionate man he was – I’ll never forget his generous help when I left for Art School over 55 years ago, he made me promise never to mention anything about it to my “old man” or anybody else – he made a huge difference to my troubled young life all those years ago – that’s just the kind of man he was.
Uncle Rodney could always make me laugh, even when I was in my “dark” teenager phase. I quit school when I was 16. When I was 17 I realize McDonalds wasn’t my future. Gramma reached out to me and told me “Someone” gave me $100 for school clothes (quite a bit of cash for 1980). They swore her to secrecy, but I suspected my sweet Uncle Rodney. Years later when I was in my early 50’s Kristy (my cousin, his daughter) confirmed my suspicions. He was my secret benefactor. There are not enough words to express his impact on my life.
I wish I could have known him!
May he rest in peace! My condolences to his family and friends.
