DeVries, Neil M. CLU, ChFC

Fairport: (formerly of Newark, NY and Metuchen, NJ) Age 89, on December 22, 2014, died peacefully, surrounded by his wife & children. Born on August 6, 1925, in Harrisburg, PA, graduated Penn State Class of 1949; attended UPenn Law. He had a long, productive career at Equitable Life, where he rose to Vice President and Director of Agency Operations. He served a term as the President of the New York Chapter of the Chartered Life Underwriters. He was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, NJ, where he served as an elder and a trustee. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth; son, David (Claire Gleitman) of Ithaca; daughter, Amy Hawke (Kevin Groth) of Penfield; three adored grandsons: Nathan, Philip and Lucas. The family is grateful to the staff at Crest Manor for the loving care Neil received.

A Memorial Celebration of Neil’s life will be held January 10, 2 PM at the RICHARD H. KEENAN FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd. (Egypt location), Fairport. An Interment Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, NJ at a later date.
