Greg grew up in East Rochester NY with his extended family nearby. Greg fondly reminisced about the family dinners and the antics he and his sister Gayle got in to.
During the 1970’s Greg and his family moved to Brussels where he attended the International School of Brussels. In addition to being a star football player, Greg saw the world. From camel rides in Egypt to impromptu train rides and the antics continued. These years were so important to Greg and often shared these experiences.
Greg married Cynthia Harvey in 1983 and had two beautiful sons, Bryan and Andrew; they had 15 years together before Cindy passed away in 1998. Greg was a dedicated Hockey Dad to Bryan and Andrew. Attending every game and being their biggest cheerleader. Greg was the Dad that always brought the snacks and for all the games, made sure everyone was there to cheer on their team, traveling out of town and state for games. In 2007 Greg lost his youngest son Andrew. Greg’s heart was forever broken after Andrew’s death.
In addition to being a loyal Hockey Dad, Greg spent his career as a Salesman for Meier Supply. His customers quickly became his friends. Always stopping into his office, a laugh and a quick story.
Greg had an intense passion for Sport Card collecting. He was always traveling with his sons to sport card shows to both buy and sell.. Everyone across NYS knew Greg Dezio as the Sport Card legend. Hence the name of Sport Card Legends. In Greg’s later years he formed a bond with Tony Grasta where they shared the same passion. Many a nights Greg and Tony would sort, discuss and talk about Sport Cards. Tony cherished these memories.
In 2013 Greg met Laurie and their relationship quickly flourished. They shared many of the same interests (except sport cards) and their love grew and in 2019 they married. Their wedding was a celebration of two families coming together. They began their lives together in a home they shared in Macedon NY. Laurie will forever cherish the brief time they had together.

We are so sorry for your loss and our hearts go out to the Dezio family. We were fortunate enough to have Greg work with the Meier Supply team in Rochester for 25 years. He was always kind and willing to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. He will be missed and know that we will hang onto the many fond memories we have of Greg. Rest in Peace Greg
I first met Greg back in the 1980’s when he worked for D.J. Mutch Refrigeration and he was my customer. I hired him at Northeast Distributors early in 1989 and then again at Meier Supply in the mid 1990’s. We worked together for more than 30 years and we had many great times both at and outside of work either fishing, partying, or just generally causing trouble. When I got married in 1996 Greg chauffeured me around and to my wedding and made sure I had a blast at my bachelor’s party the night before. Greg had his own language and those who know him know exactly what I’m talking about. It was “ship it” or “ship wreck” or “Hoot Mon” or a host of other slang sayings that only Greg could concoct. He always had a smile and a funny anecdote to brighten the day. He was a gentle and compassionate man. Through thick and thin, good times and bad, he was someone we could always count on and a great friend. My wife Kathy and I will miss him dearly. Our hearts go out to the family. We love you Mon!
My deepest sympathies to Dezio family
Rest in peace my brother
