Englehart, Kathleen L.

Kathleen (Kathie) Englehart of Fairport, NY joined her husband, Erwin, in eternal peace on September 2, 2023 at 93.

Kathie was born in Rochester, NY to the late Thelma (Loavenbruck) Burke and James Lawrence Burke. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws; Susan Englehart and Brian Moore, Betsy and John Martin, Jenny Englehart and Eric Finkle, grandsons; Daniel Martin (Jackie), Eric Martin (Lindsey), Brian Martin, Darrick Teeter, and Nathan Teeter, great-grandsons; Wesley, Calvin, and Henry Martin, sister Jean Scott, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband of 63 years, Erwin Englehart, Kathie was predeceased by in-laws; Bruce and Joy Englehart, Jean and Robert E. Smith, Richard Scott, niece Linda Scott, and nephews Neil Englehart, James Smith, and Gary Jones.

Kathie graduated from Nazareth Academy and then continued her education earning a Bachelor’s degree from Nazareth College and a Master’s degree from Florida State University. She worked as a social worker for Rochester City School District and Catholic Family Center.

Kathie was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, keeping an impeccable home and taking pride in caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crafting, and tending her flower gardens. She loved to ski, skate, swim, camp, hike, sail, and travel the country visiting many historical sites and national parks. On beach vacations she would walk the beach at low tide and collect more shark teeth, sand dollars, and beautiful sea shells than the rest of the family combined. After raising three daughters she cherished her role as Grandma to five grandsons and was often in the bleachers cheering them on at their sporting events.

The family is planning a private service. In memory of Kathie, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
