Ohannes K. Esmerian of Pittsford, NY passes away from natural causes on December 2, 2021 at his home. He was 86 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary Ann (Tygert) Esmerian, daughter Nancy and son-in-law Hugh Hastings, daughter Patti, son Greg, and was a proud Bapa to his grandchildren Katie and Geoff Hastings and Allison Esmerian. He is also survived by his sister Berdjouhi Esmerian.
Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he is graduated from the American University of Beirut. He then immigrated to the United States where he studied at the Eastman School of Music. He worked in the clinical laboratories of the Genesee Hospital where he met his wife. He also worked at Eastman Kodak Research Lab and Developmental where he held a patent in microbiology.
He was so proud of his heritage and was an active member of the American Church of Rochester for many years.
He enjoyed cruise traveling with his wife and close friends Nancy and Dick Thurston. He was also an avid grower of hot peppers.
There will be no Calling Hours or Memorial Service by request of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, Eastern or the American Heart Association.
May he rest in peace. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends, and most of all his beloved kitty, Snoopy.
