Penfield – September 1, 2018. Nancy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. (Valium) She is predeceased by parents, Carl and Maidie Drapiewski; sisters, Jean (Tom) Lacy and Carol (Michael) Grace. She is survived by her beloved children, David (Susan) Gay, Christine (Michael) Kumm, Jim (Sophia) Gay and Debbie (Jeff) Mueller; treasured grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian (Abbey) and Alex Gay, Jordan, Jared, Adam and Simon Gay, Johnathan, Lauren, Kyle, Megan, Erin, Emily and Allie Mueller, and step-granddaughter, Kayla (Dave) Clark. Nancy taught at Wilson Magnet High School for 20 years.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 1-4pm at GEVA Theatre (75 Woodbury Blvd., Rochester, NY 14607) Funeral Mass, Wednesday September 5, 2018, 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace (601 Edgewood Ave., Rochester, NY 14618). In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Gilda’s Club of Rochester (255 Alexander St., Rochester, NY 14607), where Nancy taught quilting classes for many years.

Nancy was my last first cousin on my father’s (Robert Twarowski, Maidie’s brother) side of my family. She was the closest to being a sister I ever had. We corresponded for many years via email and a few phone chats. My father died suddenly at age 60, so I sympathize so much with her family because of the sudden loss of Nancy. She’s also a personal loss to me. and I’ll miss her for the rest of my life.
We hope that our Lord brings to you and your family the much-needed peace during this sad time. Our condolences.

Nancy was my deceased wife Carol Best’s next door neighbor and best friend for many years on Iland Drive in Gates and I thank her for the many fond memories. I was deeply saddened to read of Nancy’s passing and I extend my thoughts and prayers to her family.
