Gleichauf, June Rosemond

Fairport, NY – June Gleichauf, 96, of Fairport, NY, fell asleep in death on Sunday, June 19, 2022, just 11 days shy of turning 97.  June was born at home on McNaughton Street in Rochester, NY, on June30, 1925, the daughter of the late Leo Welch and Lovina (Kitzel) Welch.

She took on jobs throughout her life, such as a secretary, dental assistant, a “house mother” for Hillside Childrens’ Home, but the main focus in her life was caring for her family and home.  She had many lifelong friends from grade school, her neighborhoods, and her congregation.  

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert Gleichauf, her brother Floyd (Evelyn) Welch, and grandson Peter Reitano.  

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Reitano; grandchildren, Daniel (Jillian) Reitano, Paul (Ocksun) Reitano; and four great-granddaughters; Arianna, Colette, Mia, and Ally Rose; and many other family members that she adored.  Her family was the love of her life. 

Her warm disposition, hospitality, and love for her family (and especially children), will be long remembered. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 23, at 10:00 AM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1344 Moseley Road, Victor, NY 14564. Zoom information is available as well.  Graveside Service to follow at White Haven Memorial Park.

    RIP dear Auntie June. You are now with Uncle Bob and Peter and Barry. You were one of the nicest ladies I had ever known and my favorite aunt..
