Born in China in December 24, 1925 passed peacefully on May 26, 2021 at the age of 95
Predeceased by wife Sue Gong, son James Gong and grandson Michael White.
Survived by daughters Evelyn White (Joseph), Mary Gong Sweeney (Donald), son William and daughter Nancy Gong (Peter Fisk); 2 grandchildren Nicole Scheel (Zach), James Gong, 1 Great Grandcild Brooke White (John Sarazyn); two great great grandchildren Lilly and Benjamin.
Imigrated to the U.S. at the age of 14. Enlisted in the Army Air Corp at the age of 16, serving from 1943 – 1945. After serving his country he worked the family Chinese laundry and was the proprietor of two area Chinese restaurants- Lychee Gardens and Imperial Palace. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid gardener well into his 90’s . He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends on June 1st, 11 am to 1 pm at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport with services immediately following. Internment private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Honor Flight Rochester.

Uncle Don and Aunt Sue were two of the nicest people you could ever meet. They both are greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to our cousins and friends in Rochester. The entire Chin family in Maryland.

My Father, the late Seymour Gray often spoke about your Father, whenever he was telling me stories of his Army Air Force service. He always said that your Dad was such a nice man and what a quality person he was. You and I were friends at Monroe High School. You have my deepest sympathies. Susie Gray
I’m sorry to hear of Mr Gongs passing. Rembering the many years working at the Imperial Palace. Both he and his wife Sue were an inspiration, showing all of us that dedicated hard work will lead to success. I smile when I think of Don’s sence of humor, loved his laugh.

I was saddened to read of the passing of your father. Reading the article in Sunday’s newspaper and his obituary, on his impressive and full life; reinforces ‘the greatest generation’.

Living in the Legacy at the Fairways, in Victor, N.Y. I became acquainted with your Father when he said he would teach a few of us how to play the game Mah Jongg.
You and your sisters also helped us. He was a gentle man, friendly, with a sense of humor. We would see you all the time coming to visit him and always asked us how we were doing. I am saddened that it was time for him to go, and I just wanted you to know how pleased I am that I got to know him and your family.
