Nestor J. Goya, 68, Macedon NY. January 12, 2024.
Predeceased by his parents Nestor and Haydee.
Survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Nubia. His sister Sara Goya, and brothers Miguel Goya (Maria), Peter Goya, and Carlos Goya (Febie). Brother in-law Jaime Villafane (Gina) and Edgar Villafane (Marsha). His loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many wonderful friends.
Aloha… Nestor loved to greet all with this warm welcome. He was a happy go lucky guy who loved life! He was very thoughtful, the life of any party and overall a great person. Anyone who has crossed paths with Nestor, would have experienced these attributes. Nestor also is remembered for helping family when in crisis by going out of his way to help. Nestor loved to dance and referred to himself as “The Juan Travolta”.Nestor also loved his Mets and Knicks, his two favorite teams.
Nestor was a business man who throughout the years owned businesses in the medical equipment industry, and a Quiznos franchise. Nestor also worked at a nursing home, and his most recent endeavor was putting smiles on the faces of the children of the Gananda school district as a school bus driver. This Christmas he programmed his school bus to play Christmas music over the loudspeaker for the children to enjoy. A police officer commented that it was the coolest thing he ever saw. This is another example of Nestor putting a smile on peoples faces.
His most important role was being husband to Nubia. He called himself her chauffer and always told her “Iwill take you anywhere you want to go”. Nestor and Nubia loved to travel and spend time with their loved ones. They had recently started building new memories by traveling and exploring new parts of the world.
Nestor retired in August of 2021, and moved to Macedon NY. He loved his new town and the welcoming nature of his neighbors and all he encountered. Nestor loved landscaping and beautifying his garden for all to enjoy. In his past time, he enjoyed going for a run, using his spinning bike or just going for a walk. He will be missed by many people. Tio I know that Abuelito and Abuelita welcomed you into their arms. You will be missed.
To my friend,
Nestor, I will cherish the memories we had together when we worked at StonyBrook University. We both started at the same time and we soon became fast friends. You made me laugh all the time. Thoughts go out to your family, especially your wife, you always spoke such kind words of her. May you rest in peace my friend.
Nestor was a light in a dreary day, a breath of fresh air when you needed it most and the laughter in the air when you needed it most.
He was kind and caring and always had a positive view on life.
He will be missed by many and a flower in Gods garden.
Nubia know you were loved beyond the stars and the moon.

My cousin Nestor will be miss dearly. He was funny and caring, his laughter and care free demeanor made him an outstanding human being, I have the most beautiful and innocent memories with him. I’m sure he’s making all our departed ones laugh again. Nubia stay strong, this is all temporary. We will see him again soon.
He always made my son smile, giggle and joke. He was bigger than life, and that is felt now. Truely a great loss to the world. He was the kind of human we need more of.
Our hears are broken.
Nestor was a good man, kind, generous and funny. A lot of my childhood was spent in his presence and I remember he always tried to make me laugh. The things I remember most though, are how he opened his heart when it came time to take care of my grandparents. I never heard him complain, he was just there, ready to do the right thing with my Aunt by his side. A go getter with a great heart, who loved life, his family and my Aunt Nubia fiercely. That is what he was and is how I will remember him. Thank you Nestor for being there, for the laughs and for being a part of our family.
Nestor was my son’s afternoon bus driver. We moved to the Gananda district over the summer. We had gotten a new puppy and when my son started school our puppy would be outside waiting for him to get off the bus. When Mr. Goya pulled in and saw him he would always roll his window down and say “Aloha, Diesel!” No matter the weather. When it was my son’s birthday in September we surprised him with silly string when he got off the bus and Mr. Goya was laughing so hard. He was a good soul and will be missed!
You will always be remember because of your laughter, jokes, and specially for your advices make you one of a kind. My prayers are rejoice knowing you are in God’ kingdom.
Nestor, your contagious smile will always be remembered. How in your presence no one was spared from a joke or funny story. I will always be grateful for the caring nature you shared with my Mother after our loss. You will truly be missed.

Nestor was my coworker at St Catherine’s and he was a very good man. He was very hard working and did all he could for his wife Nubia. I am so saddened to hear the news of his passing. I am wishing nothing but peace for him now.

I had the privilege and pleasure of helping Nestor and Nubia find their new home in Macedon. We met through close friends/family, Gina and Jaime Villafane—Nubia’s brother, and quickly became friends in addition to our business relationship. I will always remember Nestor as a fun-loving, kind individual. He always brought a smile to my face and always made our times together as real pleasure. We stayed friends after the move, and I was invited back to enjoy their beautiful home on several occasions. Nestor will be truly missed—may he rest in peace.🙏
I am going to miss you “Hermano” 💔
The loss of a loved one is never easy. Being a great man, husband, brother, son, uncle and a support to the community and losing that is devastating. We hope that everyone one remembers the great moments in life with Nestor. We will always remember him with his amazing sense of humor
