Dr. Richard G. Greene, Ph.D. of Fairport, NY, age 88, passed peacefully at Highland Hospital surrounded by family on April 18, 2025, after an extended illness.  Richard is predeceased by his parents, George and Mabel Greene, mother-in-law Phyllis Arnold, father-in-law Bill Arnold, brother-in-law John VanDussen, and brother Gerald Greene. He is survived by his adoring wife Jacquelyne Greene, whom he affectionately called JMS (Jacquie, my sweetheart), and children, Joanne (Andrew) Blose; David (Angela) Greene; Julia (Lou) Applebaum; Kim (Jim) Gallina, and Mark Trawitz. Richard is also survived by his sister Shirley Greene, sisters-in-law Ann Greene and Patricia Van Dussen, several nieces and nephews, and seven grandchildren:  Brittany Blose, Ashlynn Watkins, Ben Applebaum, Hannah Applebaum, Kasey Gallina, Jake Gallina, and Isabelle Gallina.  

Richard was born in Batavia, NY, on March 25, 1937. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology and subsequently Iowa State University where he earned his doctorate in chemistry. He had a successful career at Eastman Kodak Co., from which he retired. While at Kodak, Richard was a top player in the company’s tennis league. He was a devoted member of Trinity Reformed church where he served as Treasurer for many years. Richard loved tennis, golf, skiing, traveling with Jacquie, and was an avid runner and road racer. Of course, everyone that knew him knows there was no greater Buffalo Bills fan than Richard.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 28th from 4 pm to 6 pm at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, Inc. 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. Fairport, NY 14450, (585) 223-4840. A service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th at 10:30 am at Trinity Reformed Church, 909 Landing Rd N, Rochester, NY, 14625.
