Hallett-Brown, Mary L.

Mary Hallett-Brown
passed away peacefully on October 18, 2020, her 50th birthday. Mary
is predeceased by her mother, Bonnie (Shelhamer) Gable and step-son, Alec
Brown. (Valium) She is survived by her daughter, Alyson Hallett; husband, David; father,
Clark Gable; sisters Eileen (Brad) Button and Susan (Alan) Carroll; step-son,
Colin Brown; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.

Mary grew up in East
Rochester where she was a talented track runner and gymnast, known for her
aerial somersault on the high-beam. Following her graduation from East
Rochester, Mary attended SUNY Geneseo where she made many of her life-long
friends. She enjoyed her time working at the YMCA and Monroe Community College
where she was surrounded by the most supportive colleagues.

Mary is known as an
inspiration to many. Her 8 ½ year battle was nothing less than courageous. Her
smile, love of holidays and decorating, acts of kindness, love of her time at
the RV, finding just the right gift for people, and love for her family and
friends was evident each and every day. She is so loved and will be missed by
many.

A celebration of
Mary’s life will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Browncroft Community

Alyson- I am so very sorry about your mom’s passing. She was a wonderful person- first my gymnastics coach, and then one of my favorite parents of a student (you). I had no idea she was sick, as she always had that beautiful smile and loved to chat when I would run into her at Wegmans. Her favorite topic to chat about was you. You were her pride and joy and she never grew tired of sharing stories of your successes! I just know she is watching over you smiling that great smile as you continue to succeed and flourish. My many thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
