Fairport: April 12, 2020. David was born on February 7, 1938 in Walworth, NY. He died from complications of a stroke on Easter Sunday April 12th. David married Donna Sullivan on January 2, 1960. They had 2 children Michael (Theresa) Hamelink and Michelle (Alan) Longyear. David has 5 granddaughters ( Heather Longyear, Kelley Nolan, Taylor, Madison & McKenna Hamelink) He also has 2 great grandchildren Avery and Jack. He graduated RIT in Building Construction and Architectural Drawing. RG&E was Dave’s place of employment. He was a Field Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, Purchasing Agent and Contract Negotiator for RG&E over his 34 years of service. Dave was also in the army serving 2 1/2 years in Japan. He loved to play golf, bridge and euchre.
Services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in David’s name to the Perinton Volunteer Ambulance or Lollypop Farm.

I worked with and for Dave during his years at Ginna. Never a dull moment with Dave, He wore his emotions on his sleeve and he was larger than life. He made me laugh at times and he had a great smile. I remember those days fondly. Rest In Peace dear friend.
