G. Dewey Hammond, Jr. of Fairport, NY on June1, 2025 at age 99 years.
In addition to his parents and his brother Philip, he was predeceased by his beloved Step-Daughter Lisa D. Smithe and Granddaughter Sabrina Joy. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years Linnea, Step-Children Jeffrey (Denise) DeVuyst, Bryan DeVuyst and Chuck Shumway, Lisa’s life partner, as well as four Grandchildren, Damien (Vicki) Joy, Michael (Ayumi Shinozaki) DeVuyst, Melanie (Eddie)Sinnott and Adrian DeVuyst and three Great Grandchildren, Kaden Stanley, Maddison Joy and Kaia Sinnott, brothers and sisters -in-laws, Len (Judy) Nelson, Fred (Linda) Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
Dewey was a Life Insurance Agent and Financial Planner and worked until his mid 70’s. He was a dedicated member of the Fairport Lions Club with over 60 years of perfect attendance. A very special thank you to Aaron Manor, especially Unit 200 for their sincerely caring, highly capable care and friendship for the last 3 years,
No calling hours or memorial service are scheduled per his request.
