Victor: Age 42, passed away on May 15, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick is survived by his wife, Jessica (Boston); and children, Amanda, Connor and Nathan; his parents, Richard G. and Joanne (VanHaneghan); his grandmother, Mary VanHaneghan McRae; his sister, Michelle (Rick) Gerger: nieces, Caitlyn and Lauren and nephews Collin and Ryan; his best friend, Tom Powers; and many other family and friends. Rick is preceded in death by his first wife and children’s mother, Aimee (Snell), as well as his grandparents George VanHaneghan, Walter and Gladys Harby.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home at 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road in Fairport, NY. The Funeral Mas will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church in Victor, NY with burial to follow at White Haven Memorial Park.
Rick was born in Rochester on January 23rd. He graduated from Canandaigua High School and continued on to graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology. He worked at several tech firms in the Rochester area, including PayQuicker, LLC, ClearMomentum, 5LINX, DigiNeX, Frontier Communications and E-Znet.
Rick’s true legacy is his family. He was a dedicated family man and was very involved in Victor Little League and Boy Scouts of America.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Victor Baseball Boosters to establish The Rick Harby Scholarship. Donations should be sent to 1599 Strong Rd., Victor, NY 14564, ATTN: Erik Morrell. Rick’s family wishes to thank their friends and Dr. Richard Constantino, for his exceptional care. The Victor community was greatly appreciated for all of the support during his over two-and a-half-year battle with cancer.
