Connor, Harold F.
Harold Frederick Connor was born the youngest of three sons to Myrtle and Samuel Connor in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Monroe High School and Empire State College (at age 50) and joined the Rochester Police Force in 1953. He started the Rochester, NY K-9 Corps and retired as a Captain in 1988. He and his wife Joyce traveled the USA until they settled in Venice, FL in 1998.
Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce Starling Connor, their daughter Susan (Richard) Freeman of Englewood, FL, son William (Janis) Connor of Honeoye Falls, NY, and son James (Rhonda) Connor of Raleigh, NC. He has 3 grandchildren (Sheila (Mike) Wasilewski, Katrina Connor, Rebecca Connor), two step-grandchildren (James (Jen) DeMay, Suzanne (Tim) McLaughlin), and 7 great grandchildren (Claire, Robert, & Benjamin Wasilewski, Kate & Issac DeMay, Sarah & Avery McLaughlin).
Hal was a member of Waken-Hubbard Lodge #154, Englewood Elks, the Police Locust Club and ARPALER. He attended the Unity Church of Venice.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday February 4, at Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, Fairport NY 14450.
