Havens, Waltraud “Wallie”

Perinton- Wallie passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at the age of 85. Predeceased by her parents, Franz and Ida Dzubiella, brother Ernst and Waldemar, and sister Erna Kuhlman.

Survived by her loving husband George; children James (Mary) Havens and Michelle (Richard) Tripp; her brother Eckard (Ingabord) Dzubiella; grandchildren Owen and Emily Havens, Natalie and Jill Tripp; step-grandchildren Jordan and Jenna Melita; she is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She will be greatly missed and forever lovingly remembered as a loving wife, mother, Oma, Grandma sister, aunt and friend.

Wallie was a beautician most of her married life. For 8 years she operated her own salon, “Wallie’s Hair Fashions”.

She loved to bake and cook German and American food. She also loved having parties and, often, cooking most of the food for them. Wallie frequently helped with the cooking at her church regardless of occasion or event. She especially enjoyed making all the pancake batter for “Breakfast with Santa” for several years.

Wallie enjoyed working in her yard and admiring the view of it from her kitchen window. She was also never far from a good cup of tea.

A private family service was held. Her memorial service will be planned in the future.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may send donations to Risen Christ Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice in Wallie’s name.

Dear Michelle, Mr. Havens, Jim, Natalie, Jill, and Rick,
I am thinking of you all today. Mrs. Havens was a great lady who was always nice to me through conversation or through her awesome baked goods. She is in my thoughts and in my heart today.

    Love, Audra

George I was so very sad to to hear the news of Wallie’s passing. I first got to know her thru our church. She was always welcoming, generous and very friendly. You would never go hungry when Willie was around. I think I I have gained fifty pounds since I first met her. She was so very sweet to my daughter when she was little.

George, Jim and I extend our sympathy in the loss of your dear wife, Wallie. You took such loving care of her, she was blessed to have you as her husband. She was so faithful in attending RCLC and I do think of her in the kitchen there. We were also honored to be invited to play cards with you and Badgers after church. She was a skilled card player. I knew she would like to have had her own restaurant, but didn’t know she had her own hair salon, though her hair was always perfectly styled! Maybe she could have brought some order to mine! She will be missed by all who knew her. Our sympathy to your family as well, I know she was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

    George,
Wallie is with her Lord now, out of that constant pain she was in. We will always remember Wallie making the pancakes for “Breakfast with Santa” as well as directing the kitchen crew, baking 90% of the baked goods for the church bake sales, her wonderful heart-felt laugh and the way she loved you. We will also remember what she said to our son, Matthew, when he was wearing a goatee. She said, “Matthew (pronounced, Matt-chew) you look like a Billy goat.” She was a wonderful sister in the Lord and we know you will miss her dearly.

Dear George and family, we are sorry for your loss. Wallie was such a warrior. One year her and I did the food set up for one of the sites during Flower City. She shared her brave story of coming to this country with me and all that she went through. She was truly a remarkable woman. Praying for your peace and comfort during this time.
