Hellinger, Catherine Lynn

Born December 26, 1960, Catherine Lynn Hellinger (née Gulisano) entered eternal rest on August 26, 2021. Survived by three children, Amber of Phelps, Autum (Michael Miller) of Clifton Springs, and Richard of Conesus, as well as four grandchildren who were the love of her life, Yandell, Jewel, Melody, and Natalie, Cathy was predeceased by her loving husband of over 2 decades, Rick E. Hellinger, in 2011.

Growing up in a tumultuous and abusive household, Cathy raised many of her siblings as a child herself. Following these less-than-ideal circumstances, Cathy promised herself she would never let others treat her poorly again, and she never did.

Before becoming disabled in a work accident, she held positions training and operating corrugation manufacturing machines at various companies. She was proud of how well and efficiently she learned to run the machines, working her way to the top in a matter of years. Following her accident, Cathy dedicated her life to the service of others by volunteering thousands of hours with various organizations, including assisting in the foundingof a food pantry in Fairport, NY.

Cathy will be remembered by her generous spirit, her quick wit, and her fearlessness among other qualities. She left all who knew her with enough stories, memories, and laughs to last their lifetime, which was one of her life goals.

As there will be no public services per Cathy’s wishes, please take time out of your day to remember her by telling a favorite story, sharing a photo, or fearlessly standing up for what is right.
