Joanne Henderson (October 10, 1934 – August 1, 2020)
Joanne died after a short illness on August 1, 2020.
She is survived by her husband, Howard, children, Allan Henderson, Edward (Norma) Henderson, John (Ann) Henderson, Linda (Eric) StPhillips, and Sue Henderson. Grandchildren: Doug (Becca) Henderson, Stacey (Ashley) Wilson, Heidi Henderson, Dr. E. Henderson (Dr. LeeAnn Bera), Darcy (Jake) Levine, Michael StPhillips, Sean (Rachel) Henderson, Matthew (Kimberly) StPhillips, Jacob (Mary) Henderson, and Tim Henderson. Great-grandchildren: Madeline and Sophie Henderson, Ava and Lily Wilson, and expected Baby Boy Levine. Also her brother George Wetterhahn, Sister Barb Foley, Sister-in-Law Elaine Scott, Sister-in-Law Marie (Revere) Durnion, and daughter-in-law Karen (Bruce) Flaig. Several nieces and nephews along with equally loved extended family siblings Tracy and Nancee StPhillips, Shelley and Gregory Germain, Gina StPhillips, and Reverend Thomas Mahoney.
Joanne was predeceased by her son Gene Henderson, granddaughter Caitlin Henderson, brother Robert Wetterhahn; sister, Marie Dudley, brother-in-law Ted Scott, and daughter-in-law Nancy Henderson.
Joanne was known for her merciless card playing abilities where a mini-celebration was held when she could be outscored. Joanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. An active church member, she held the position of church treasurer at Cardiff United Methodist Church for 19 years while being a strong alto in the choir. Joanne was a lifelong member of the New York State Grange where she worked diligently for the American farmer. After receiving her college degree in 1983, Joanne worked for a doctor’s group at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. After retirement, she organized several activities for the Lafayette Senior Citizens. After moving to Fairport, Joanne could be counted on to provide food when needed by Perinton Presbyterian Church.
Special thanks to Palliative Care Chaplain, Clif Genge, and Lifetime Care Hospice for their attending to Joanne’s comfort in her final days.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 6 from 4-6 pm at the Keenan Funeral Home Egypt Location. Private memorial service for family to be held at Perinton Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Perinton Presbyterian Memorial Fund, PO Box 611, Fairport, NY 14450.

Howard, Melissa and I are thinking of you and yours. Very hard to imagine a world without Joanne in it, but the next world is much the richer for her presence. We have so many memories of time spent and things accomplished together. Our hearts hurt with yours.
Allan & Heidi, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts & prayers. I’m sure you have so many wonderful memories to rely on & relive. You will always remember your mother & grandmother for all the times you sent together, so many other things in your lives. I wish I could be there with you in your time of sorrow. God is watching over you.
