One response to “Hennessy, John R. “Jack””
I was hired at Marine Midland Bank in the early 80’s and was immediately thrust under the watchful and scrutinizing eye of Jack Hennessy. Jack was the second person to have responsibilities with Marine Midland Mortgage Corporation and I was the third. Jack should have been the first. He deserved it and Larry Brown didn’t. Politics!
For whatever reason Jack took a personal interest in my career and my development at the bank and in my personal life as well. I was recruited from Michigan and had no friends in Western New York. Well, I have to tell you Jack made short work of that by making sure I was included in everything he could including several nice dinners with just he and Vonie at their home in Orchard Park.
You were a grand guy Jack and I think of you often… even today. You’re missed but not forgotten. Your friend, Bruce Kiernan
