Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was predeceased by her mother Barbara Wimberly, father Albert Bossard, Jr, sister Natalie Cousins and nephew Roger Douglas DePuyt II.
She is survived by her beloved husband and soul mate of 44 years John Hessney, sister Louisa (Scott) Sunderman of Weybridge, England, cousin Mary Stafford of Hoboken, NJ, sister-in-law Marcia (Martin) Teague, sister-in-law Joanne DePuyt, nieces Sara Sunderman, Theresa (Shane) Kassler, Ashleigh Andre’, nephew James Andre’ III, great niece Mikayla Kassler and her faithful King Charles Spaniel companion George.
A chance to meet with her always led to a lifelong friendship. She was a kind and generous person who always thought of others before herself. She was a graduate of Pittsford Sutherland High School and Wells College where she received her bachelor’s in philosophy.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to her wonderful doctors these past few years and a special thank you to the wonderful and compassionate nurses, and volunteers at The Advent House who took outstanding care of our Elizabeth in her final days.
A memorial service will be held at White Haven Memorial Park, All Season’s Chapel, located at 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534 on Thursday, May 7th at 11:30 am followed by a private interment.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made in Elizabeth’s memory to The Advent House, 1010 Moseley Rd, Fairport, NY 14450 or Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450.
