Ron was a long time parishioner of St. John of Rochester Church, ushered for over 40 years, and was actively involved in the Men’s Club and Notre Dame Retreat House. Ron gave generously of his time to the House of Mercy (tirelessly gathering donations to help the homeless), Habitat for Humanity, Saint’s Place, and more.

Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd., Egypt/Fairport.  A funeral mass will be held at 10a.m. on Saturday, June 30 at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport.  Reception to follow at the church.  Private Interment held with the family in Belmont, NY. He will join his wife Barbara and his friend Tom Dillon at St. Mary’s.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the House of Mercy.

The family would like to offer our profound gratitude to the 4-1200 (Palliative Care) staff at Strong Memorial Hospital for their incredible kindness and care for Ron and his loved ones.

met Ron briefly at a Perinton Congregation for Habitat for Humanity meeting. Liked him immediately. I was wearing a Red Sox hat and t-shirt. He commented how great it was to have another Boston fan on the committee. His view of Fenway from above is now the best seat in the ballpark.

We greatly admired this fine man. He was our client, then our friend. We were part of his “team” after Barb’s death. We appreciated his commitment to community and supported his causes because we understood the importance of the work. We will certainly donate to House of Mercy. He would indeed want this as his final effort.

I knew Ron from working together on the House of Mercy fundraising committee. He was a great person and so dedicated to helping the poor. He will be missed.

Worked with Ron for many years on the House of Mercy dinner dance and other projects. The community will miss him. He was a dedicated son, who also loved his sons and always did the best he could in his own way.
