Many wonderful memories of Ruth – from meeting her when my Dad/Admiral interviewed her for a job at Camp-in-the-Woods to babysitting their first children. She was special in so many ways.
Ruth was such a special person! From the moment I started working at Fairport Library, she took me under her wing, giving me rides home from work, including me in staff gatherings, and telling me the ins and outs of the library. I was so grateful for her support as a “newbie”. As years went on, I appreciated her character, her love of family, her acceptance and work ethic even more. I feel lucky to have known her.

Ruth was a good friend of my mother Janice MacDavid. They worked together at the Fairport library and stayed in touch even after my mother moved from Fairport. My mother passed in March I am glad the two of them can “catch up” on all the news.
Ruth was a friend in the last year or so at the REHAB. we often played pinochle on Wednesday afternoons. She is known for her lengthly thoughts before playing each card. She surely loved her family.
I never knew Ruth personally but immediately recognized her picture as the friendly person who so often helped me at the Fairport Library through the years. She always added to the enjoyment of being at the library. May she rest in peace.
Ruth was a very special friend. She was a neighbour to my mother on South Ave and the friendship goes back well over 50 years. When I married in 1968, she hosted some of our wedding party. When my mother underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm in 1972, she sat with me at Genesee Hospital throughout the lengthy surgery. And when we sold my mother’s house in 1993 after she went into long-term care, she pulled me aside and told me that I would NOT stay at a motel when I visited. I had a key to her house on South Ave until she sold it and stayed there many times, always enjoying the company and catching up on her own growing family. I’ve never known anyone who truly lived her Christian faith as fully as Ruth did. I will miss my own visits with her whenever I got to Fairport. My sincere condolences to her large family. I would very much like to attend her service, but as a Canadian, and as one with certain views on social media, I’m not sure it’s presently safe for me to visit the United States.
why isn’t it safe for you to visit the USA?

I have so many wonderful memories of Ruth. I had the pleasure of knowing Lefty and spent many fun evenings with them at the Ennis home. In 1972 we happen to be in London at the same time .We had a wonderful time enjoying high tea and walking around the town. She was an amazing person and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to all the family.
