Mary Jo Janes passed peacefully surrounded by family on Friday July 19th, 2024 at the age of 74. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary Schuhart, brothers Joseph and Michael. Survived by her loving husband Scott Janes, Daughter Monique Paschedag, Son Lance Paschedag. Grandchildren Lianna & Lexxie Wingo, Logan Paschedag . Great Grandchild Apollo Sanchez. Sisters Jean (Tim) Vaughan, Linda Piccone . Brothers Robert, William , Richard & Charles Schuhart and sister in law Sandi ( Mario) Aquino.  Many nieces and nephews.

Mary Jo worked for 30 years in the Radiology dept at both Rochester General Hospital as well as Newark Wayne Hospital.  She was truly passionate and industrious employee.  She was sorely missed when she decided to retire at the age of 62.  However, a couple years later she decided to work  part time job at the local Tops Friendly Market  to fill in a little of her time until the pandemic struck.

Even after she retired 12 years ago she continued to meet the work girls religiously every month for lunch.  She had so many friends and you all know who you are and how important you were to Mary Jo.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandson deeply as well as all her family and friends. Mary Jo met the love of her life Scott in 1982 and they married in 1990 after they both became sober together in 1989.  Mary Jo was a true avid Buffalo Bills Fan enjoying going to some Stadium games in the earlier years with Scott and friends but enjoyed watching the games on the big screen at home . Saturday nights you would find her at the dirt races in Canandaigua with Scott as they were season ticket holders for many years.  There was not any event that she would missed when Lianna or Lexxie were in high school at the School of the Arts.  Weather it was Choir, Jazz Band , Volleyball or softball events you would find Mary Jo front and center cheering them on.  Mary Jo loved going to movies with Logan . Eating popcorn and enjoying the show was her special alone time with Logan.  This was just a few of her happy times with her grandchildren.  It is hard to imagine at such a young age  but Mary Jo experienced the pure cheerfulness of becoming a great grandmother in 2023 when Apollo was born.  She was quick to pull out her phone to show off pictures of him to anyone she encountered and she would smile from ear to ear.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday August 2nd from 4-7 at Richard H. Keenan Home located at 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road ( Egypt Location) Funeral Mass Saturday August 3rd 10:30 at the Church of the Assumption Church, Fairport NY.   Burial Monday August 5th 10:30 am at White Haven Memorial Park . In Lieu of flowers, consider donation  to Villa of hope ( Villaofhope.org/donate/ )  which used to be St. Josephs Villa where Mary Jo Worked before her employment at Rochester General Hospital.

Maryjo I will so miss our weekly talks on the phone every time before we hung up, I would always tell you to stay strong and be positive.
We laughed a lot together. I will never forget you telling me that mom used to make you babysit us brats but deep down I think you loved it! I know heaven will never be the same with you, Joey and Mikey raising all that havoc. I love you and miss you so much.
    Love your sissy💔

Mary Jo, I will always remember so fondly all the good memories of us growing up together down the street from each other and all the good times we had together with Sue, Jeanie, Sandy and others whether it be sitting on one of our porches, or walking to and from school. It was so good to get together a few years ago and talk and see what we had all been up too! You were a great friend with a good heart always. I use to admire the relationship between you and Jean because you were so close as sisters and I didn’t have any sisters! You did use to be mean to Jean sometimes and make her cry and then you would laugh at her which would send her trotting home to tell your mother! Those were the days my dear friend! We had fun, and we will meet again. Don’t be mean to your brothers!! Lol

Mary Jo was a valued co-worker in Radiology with me for 16 years. She was a hard worker and became a good friend while I was there. We had many deep conversations at the time but we lost touch after I retired. I have thought about her often and was sad to learn of her passing. It sounds as if she was extremely happy and was enjoying her life. She may be gone, but not forgotten.
