Sheila A. Johnston 74 of Fairport NY passed away peacefully on Sunday September 19. Predeceased by her Husband Gary L. Johnston, Mother Ruth E. Florack, and Brother Randy Carmon. Sheila is survived by her three Sons Aaron (Bridget), Kirk, and Brad. Her Brother Mark (Michele) Florack and Sister in law Anne Carmon. Her Grandchildren Ian, Tyler, Kaiden, Jace, Jenna, Carly, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Sheila was a mother first and foremost. Her favorite pastime was the relentless cleaning of her home. Her perfectly clean home and her CLEAR expectations for all that entered made for legendary stories for family and friends. Her signs posted at every entrance “Please take your shoes off before entering Thanks Sheila” was one of her many trademarks.
Sheila spent her early years with her mother and brothers as a proud resident of East Rochester. When the boys were grown, she spent many years reconnecting with ER residents working in the cafeteria of East Rochester Schools where she was adored by students and faculty.
In her later years she spent many years with her husband Gary in Estero Florida. They both LOVED the heat and made many wonderful friends during their time there.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the many nurses that cared for Sheila in her home. They provided a great deal of physical and emotional support that she cherished.
Calling hours Friday September 24, 6pm-8pm at The Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road Fairport.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 25, 10am-11am at White Haven Memorial Park (All Seasons Chapel) 210 Marsh Road.

Although I have not seen Sheila for many many years I have fond memories of her at the Johnston Family reunion. Sheila and Gary would stay in their RV very close to our cabin. She was always very sweet to me and always invited us in to talk and offer us a beverage. She had a great sense of humor and always made us laugh.
To my cousin and the family, I’m deeply saddened to hear that you’ve lost such a special and important person in your lives. Our hearts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
With Love, Ken Johnston

I am so sorry for your mom passing. Your mom was a beautiful soul! We had many great conversations, many laughs and we even cried together. I enjoyed my time working with Kirk. Your dad was the best also. I loved hearing his stories when we sat outside. I hope that they are happy in heaven together..Sheila will be missed very much.
