Kathleen (Kathy) Kane passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025 at the age of 84. Born on October 23, 1940 in Rochester, NY, Kathy lived a life full of love, adventure, and meaningful connections.
She was predeceased by her beloved companion and friend, Charles (Charlie) Dinsmore, her parents Robert and Alice Kane, Robert Kane(brother), Emily Kane (sister in-law), and Anthony Cinotti (brother In-law). She is survived by her sister Patricia Cinotti, her children Dennis Stenglein (Kelly), Lynne Fuller (Bill), Bonnie Fabiano (Casey), her grandchildren Tabitha Messner (Jack), Leah Brown (Jay), Michael Cifuentes (Natalie), Tricia Cifuentes-Inglese (Loren), Eric Stenglein, Erin Nelson, Ian Brown (Cait)Jonathan Chatterton (Brittany), 15 great grandchildren who were her pride and joy, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathy made Indianapolis her home in 1985, where she worked as a secretary and bartended at a spot frequented by many Indianapolis Colts players. Knowing the players personally made cheering for the team even more special for her. She also had a great love for the excitement of the Indianapolis Speedway races and parades, often sharing those moments with her family and friends.
Travel was another source of joy for Kathy. She and Charlie explored Europe together, but it was Wales that held a special place in her heart. Later, while still living in Indianapolis, she worked as an executive secretary for Bovis Lend Lease who offered her a position in Las Vegas, where she became an invaluable part of their legal team. While she cherished her time in Las Vegas, after retiring, Kathy chose to return to Rochester to be closer to her family.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the absolute lights of her life, and she found so much joy in being part of their lives. Kathy also had a soft spot for her grand puppies. This past summer, she lovingly cared for a litter of 10 yellow labs, spending hours on the deck keeping them safe and showering them with attention. Her favorite, Monty, found a forever home with her granddaughter, Tabitha’s family—a connection Kathy knew was meant to be.
Kathy’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed. Her life was a testament to the power of love, loyalty, and the joy of simple moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
