Kaye Bostwick Keys
Fairport, NY
Kaye passed away peacefully at St. Ann’s at Cherry Ridge on March 15, 2025, at 80 years of age. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Robert Keys; her children, Melissa Bovenzi (David) and Jeffrey Keys (Annemarie); and her beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Makayla, Jack, Emily, and Owen. Kaye is also survived by her niece and nephew, Emily Monka (Scott) and Brian Harkenrider (Jenni).
She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Betty Bostwick; her sisters, Linda (infant) and Sandra Harkenrider; and her brother-in-law, Edward Harkenrider.
Kaye deeply loved spending time with her family and was especially devoted to her grandchildren. She could often be found cheering them on at various sporting events and school activities. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate their lives, always sending thoughtful cards for every holiday, birthday, and milestone.
Kaye lived a full life in service to others. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Greece, New York, teaching for nine years at Paddy Hill School. She later found her calling at Risen Christ Nursery School, where she served as both director and lead teacher for 26 years.
Kaye worked with both three- and four-year-old students and held this responsibility close to her heart, knowing she was helping children begin their journey in learning. She also supported nervous parents as they prepared to send their little ones off for the first time. During the summer months, Kaye often met with children one-on-one to ease their fears and introduce them to the joy that awaited in September.
She taught her students important life skills: how to share, how to care for their classroom, and how to follow routines—all through a collection of songs she had for every occasion. These songs not only helped children navigate their day but gave them confidence and a sense of purpose. Teaching was one of the most beautiful gifts Kaye shared with the world.
A celebration of Kaye’s beautiful life will be held at Risen Christ Church in Fairport on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Risen Christ Church or to an organization of your choice.

Bob,
Sorry to you and your family for the loss of your beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the one who prepared our 3 kids for the world; with grace, love, faith and lots of patience! Our family will always be grateful and will never forget her !
Kaye was a beautiful soul and pure of heart for all her kids. My Mikey has a special place in his heart for her
I can’t speak to Kaye’s wonderful contribution to her preschool children. However, I have known her in the last 12 years and knew immediately what a special and loving person she was. She will always have a special place in my heart.
Fly high with the Angels, Kaye Keys…fly high with the the Angels.
