Clark was an invaluable member of the Rochester Numismatic Association – every year when we had our banquet at the Green Lantern Inn, he’d be there to make the proclamation, naming it Rochester Numismatic Association Day in Fairport, NY! It was always great to see him at the banquet, meetings, and the annual picnic. He will be greatly missed, and I’m very sorry for your loss.
Clark was a gentleman and a devoted public servant…condolences to Clark’s family. It was a sincere pleasure to work with him.
Unfortunately I will be out of town and will miss the service and calling hours. I am offering strong prayers to Sharon. Having recently lost my wife I know how difficult the loss will be.
Clark was an amazing person with his hands in so many adventures and devotion to his family. He is a special kind of guy and will be missed by many.
Very saddened to hear of Clark’s passing. I have known him for several decades and his friendship meant so much to my family, especially my parents. Words alone can not convey the loss. Prayers for Sharon and the rest of the King family.
Clark was a good guy. We worked together at United Way. His hobby was collecting board games, which was quite extensive, as I remember. Also, many folks may not know that he was a former Mayor of Fairport. Clark always had a smile for anyone he talked to and he will be missed.

I’m deeply grateful for the time and memories shared with Clark. He always listened with care, told stories that stayed with you, and showed up as a thoughtful advocate. Two favorite memories, the glimmer in his eye when he returned from Honor Flight, and his excited energy after he was able to help me get instructions to my husband’s favorite board game signed. Clark will be truly missed, and is cherished by so many. Wrapping his family and friends in love as we celebrate and honor a true community legend.
While assigned as the Captain of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Zone A substation, I had several interactions with Clark (Mayor King). Clark always had a friendly, cordial demeanor and he was a real pleasure to have known. God Bless Clark and his family.
I only got to see Clark once a year at an annual gaming convention, but he touched my life nonetheless with his kindness, warmth, and gentle humor. I’m thankful for that, and my sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends who were blessed with so much more time with him and are now left with such a hole in their lives.
Clark swore me in as fairport police chief in 1991 and during the next 11 years we worked together on a number of village issues. He was a kind and gentle soul who was pleasure to know and work with. I last saw him and his wife Sharon at my wife’s viewing at Keenan’s a year ago. God bless you Clark!
Worked for and with Clark at Kodak. He was a gentleman, kind, supportive and a pleasure to know. My sincere condolences to Sharon and the King family. May he rest in peace and his memories be a blessing.
Thank you, Mayor for giving a young kid the chance to serve on the Fairport Municipal Commission years ago. You were always a kind and thoughtful man and I always enjoyed our conversations. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Prayers to Sharon and the family. A great man and lover of Fairport. We will surely miss you.
Everyone at the RNA will miss our buddy Clark! He approached every coin with respect and every member with friendship. He was a sharp mind and a steady friend who always made our meetings better.
The Veterans Outreach Center extends our deepest sympathy in Clark’s passing.
We acknowledge and are truly grateful for his service to our country.
Clarke was one of the Monroe County mayors I admired most while serving in the same position in Pittsford. His love for his community was only surpassed by his genuine warmth and knowledge. His comraderie, gentle humor, and friendship are things I miss and will not forget. My sincerest condolences to Clarke’s family.
Clark was an incredible friend and mentor. He did everything with kindness and he truly loved his community. He deserves so much credit for making his Village the jewel of the Erie Canal. Thanks to Sharon and the kids for sharing him with us all for so many years. God Bless you Mr. Mayor!!
You will be missed.

I offer my sincere condolences to the family of Clark King. He represented an incredible contributor to the community of Fairport and the people of Monroe County.
Clark impacted so many lives – a family man through and through, a mentor, colleague, and friend. His life is one that exemplifies service. Grateful to have known him. Sending much love to Sharon and the entire family.
Eonderful, accomplished man who gave his all. Our condolences to the family
I met Clark over 30 years ago as a colleague. He was a genuinely kind and compassionate man, and a conscientious and humble public servant. Even though the mayoral position at the Village of Fairport was part-time, he performed it like it was the most important job in the universe. Despite our political differences, we became very good friends. Ideology was displaced by genuine feelings of mutual trust and respect. The world needs to be overrun by good people like Clark King, and it would lead us to a much beloved community. May we all be inspired by his example.
Stan was bigger than life. He was a youth counselor at the Fairport Baptist Church in the early 1980’s when he and Sharon taught me the value of public service. A wonderful man! And Sharon: yes I move away in 1982 but you and Stan always stayed with me. Thank you.
So sorry for your loss. Clark was a kind and gentle man. I was able to volunteer at Canal Days and work with him. He also was very supportive when I had my store in the Village. Also worked with him as a volunteer on several committees for the Village. He will be missed.
I had the pleasure of knowing Clark at Kodak. He was a member of a dream team of managers that I had the pleasure of working with. He always knew his stuff,, and led a great group of workers who benefited from his knowledge amd leadership skills. Later, after I retired, our roles were reversed and I worked for Clark at United Way, for a number of years. My condolences to Sharon and his family for this great loss for them, for Fairport, and all the people he came into contact with.
