Jerry R. Knaus

Born 3/31/1942 in St Paul, MN. Moved on to greener pastures on 12/14/25.

After graduating from Purdue University, Jerry proudly worked his entire career with Eastman Kodak. Through his life, he remained a dedicated fan of the Boilermakers. He loved photography and often served as the family historian, beautifully documenting family adventures and nature that he so dearly loved. He enjoyed doing renovations, especially in Long Lake and their front porch at home. Watching the deer and being present with nature was a favorite hobby.

Jerry enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and built a full life piecing together work, family, friends, motorcycles, boats and homes. While the final piece of the puzzle has been placed, his memory and corny jokes live on in all of us who were those puzzle pieces.

Jerry is survived by Maura R. Steed, his wife of 37 years, his son Kevin (Becky), step-son Glenn Steed(Francesca) and step-daughter, Meghan Garvey. He is also survived by his sister Beverly Collins(Jim), niece Jennifer Clem(Rodger) and nephews Bruce Collins and Thad Knaus(Kara), Jerry was so proud of his grandchildren: Austin, Cameron, Chandler, Liam, Cormac, Dempsey, and Brody.

Jerry was predeceased by his brother Ken Knaus.

A memorial will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jerry’s name to the Central Indiana Land Trust or Future Farmers of America
