Fairport – Richard Charles Krenzer of Fairport passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 27,2020. He was the youngest child of Cyril and Helen Krenzer. The brother of Patricia Andrews, Cyril Krenzer and Elizabeth Carufe. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deborah and daughters Elizabeth (Tony Brockmeyer) of Colorado and Kristen (Pavan Dhullipalla) of Massachusetts. Along with many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dicks career path took many turns. He worked as a computer programmer, first at Kodak and then with IBM. He left those businesses to begin a second career as a Sixth grade teacher in Pittsford. His true love was teaching Math to his students through games and activities not strictly by the book. He possessed a great sense of humor and used it to engage and motivate his sixth grade students. He taught in Pittsford for 29 years and was a master of making learning accessible and meaningful to all his students. He was highly regarded as a professional by the community and his peers.
He love of educating did not stop with the classroom. He coached soccer, filmed football games, and was the timer for Sutherland Basketball games. He also refereed soccer for SectionV and College as well. He was never one for sitting still.
He had a passion for fishing, hunting, golf, and in particular any form of baseball. He was involved in some kind of baseball most of his life. From backyard games of catch with his brother, to softball until he was in his early 50’s.
He met Debbie in Pittsford when she began teaching at Thornell Road School.They dated and married and had two daughters who were the love of his life. He supported their athletic endeavors as coach and cheerleader as well of those of his neices and nephews.
He had many dear and long time friends. He celebrated his many friendships with an annual Winter Cabin party in Mendon Ponds Park. This year marks 50 years of continuous celebrating. A Celebration of Life party is being planned for sometime this fall where we can raise a glass, have a Hot (maybe some Pork and Saurkraut), late night sledding a card game or two.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, July 2, from 3-5 PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport.

I taught with Dick at Thornell Road Elementary for many years. He was a wonderful person, teacher and friend. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dick was one of the first people I met when I started teaching in Pittsford, and our careers overlapped through the years. He was a dedicated professional and a friend. May memories of the good times stay with the family always.
Dick will be remembered as a respected teacher, a fun loving guy and a great father and husband. May he rest in peace.
Dick and I , friends for years, grew up together, played sports together, and managed to stay out of trouble together. I will sorely miss him.
While our time together diminished over the years and our paths diverged, we always had the Cabin Party to reconnect and embellish the old
stories.

Rick told me last week of Crunch’s passing last week. I am very sorry. Thinking of our past adventures. We fished countless creeks, rivers, and lakes together, many mornings sat in cold duck blinds, chased Grouse all over the state. I lost count of the number of softball and basketball team benches we sat on together. I’ve even managed to be Euchred by Crunch a thousand times. The entire run has been a real kick and I am proud to have called your husband a pal. I will remember him until I’m sitting in the boat with him again. God bless you and the girls.

Debbie- so sorry to hear of Dicks passing. Paul has wonderful memories of fishing, hunting, softball with Dick. The cabin parties- Paul & I had just started dating in 1970 for the first cabin party and Paul was proud to say he went to 35 straight parties until we moved to Florida. Loved that man!
Debbie and girls, Dick and I graduated from R-H many years ago. He was on many of the class reunion committee meetings and offered good suggestions. He was a great guy and will be missed by many. Remember the good times. Patti & Bob Page
Even though We only met Dick this past winter we could tell right away that he was just an all around nice person. Always said hello & good morning to my wife & me. He always seemed happy. Dick will be missed by all who ever met him
