Kretzler, Janet Alice

On September 30 our blue eyed angel left this Earth. Boy, she had the most beautiful blue eyes.

Janet was born August 23, 1933 in Salem NY to James and Florence Tulip. At the age of 16 she graduated from Salem Washington Academy and left to attend Albany Business College in Albany NY. There she met the love of her life Robert Kretzler. They raised 3 children together and in later years they traveled to far off places to vacation together. They were married for 44 years until Bob’s passing.

Janet had the most important job in the world as a stay at home mom raising their children. She never missed any of our football , basketball, field hockey games, or track meets. We have wonderful memories of family vacations and sweet treats she would make for us that would still be warm when we came home from school.

She was affectionately known as Meme to all her family that loved her. Family was everything to her and she loved us all to the ends of the earth and back. She will be so missed by all of us but will always live on in our hearts forever.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, her loving husband Robert Kretzler, and sister Joyce Luke.

She is survived by her children Lori (Mark) Ochs, Gail (Andrew) Nolan, Robert (Laurene) Kretzler

Grandchildren Erin (Marvin) Cruz, Sara (Filip Holmqvist) Ochs, Kaitlyn (Travis) Condello, Ryan (Kelley) Nolan, Tyler (Katelyn) Nolan, Michael (Julia Bradley) Nolan, Amy (David Ortiz) Kretzler, Justin Kretzler

Great grandchildren Mason and Harper Cruz, Jack, Owen, Emma, George Nolan, David Ortiz Jr, and Stellan Holmqvist. As well as many nephews and nieces.

All are invited to her graveside service on November 2, 2024 at 11:30 am at Memory Gardens Cemetery 983 Watervliet Shaker Rd Albany NY. Reception to follow.

A beautiful eulogy for a beautiful lady. Even only meeting her once it was evident of the beautiful soul within. One only needs to look to the sorts of persons that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are to see what a lovely person she was and how seriously she took her job as a mom.

  2. ROB and THE KRETZLER FAMILY- so sorry to hear about your MOM. May GOD BLESS HER and May SHE REST in PEACE forever. With deepest sympathy JOHN and MARIA.
