Anne Theresa LaManna of Pittsford, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2021 surrounded by her family at St. Ann’s Community.
Predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Sylvia Pompa, brothers Eugene and Nicholas, sister Mary Sherry, sister-in-law, Dorthea Pompa and son-in-law Daniel Campbell, Jr.
Anne is survived by her sister and brothers, Laura Valvano, Vincent Pompa (Ann), Joseph Pompa, Richard (Patricia) Pompa and Robert Pompa, as well as her beloved daughters, Joanne (Charles) Cayot, Janice Campbell and Jeanine (Michael) McDermott. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michelle Campbell, Samantha Stacks, Kimberly Campbell, Nicole Cayot, Alexandra Gitto, and Mia and Liam McDermott, and her great-grandchildren Aaden, Adriana, Austin, Alena, Nolan and Sawyer, and by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Anne Pompa attended Immaculate Conception and West High. As a young lady, she was passionate about Jitterbug dancing and beauty pageants, winning the titles of Miss G.I. and Miss American Legion in the 1940’s. She loved pageants, the celebration of beauty and inner strength, and thus served as a featured judge for the Miss New York State pageants in the 80’s and 90’s.
Anne was the first Mary Kay Cosmetics representative in Rochester, joining the company in 1972. She would go on to become a Senior Sales Director, leading a team of consultants aptly named “Anne’s Angels”, and winning countless titles. Her long standing career garnered her the title “Queen of Sales” for breaking company records, winning company cars and many other awards. In addition to her professional successes, Anne used her talents to volunteer at the Al Sigl Center to teach skin care to young adults with special needs. Her love for Mary Kay Cosmetics endured as she continued to break records by staying with the company for 46 years.
Anne loved entertaining, planting summer flowers, baking, playing with her grandchildren and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan!
Undoubtedly her greatest legacy will be making everyone she met feel loved and special. Her generosity, rosy outlook on life and unconditional love is something that we can all cherish and that will live on in those she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to marykayashfoundation.org, funding grants to find cures for cancer and lending financial support to women’s shelters.
Funeral Mass Tuesday December 21, 1PM at St. Louis Church, Pittsford. The burial follows at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
“The secret to success is to give yourself away with love, and strangely enough, the more you give, the more you get. All you send into the lives of others does come back into your own.
Giving is one of life’s greatest joys.” Mary Kay Ash

I am sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. I was an Anne Angel and she was so supportive and motivating. She had such a caring way to all. I know she touched a lot of lives! May God bless!
Anne was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. She “adopted” me as a consultant when I started in 1984, and always was encouraging me, not making a dime on me because I wasn’t in her unit. She was the epitome of the Go-Give Spirit in Mary Kay. She was always empowering others to be their best. She was an angel, and I’m sure she touched more lives than she ever knew.
Anne Lamanna was truly a special and beautiful soul. I shared many special moments with her and her family, especially with her daughter Jeanine. She will always be in my heart and may she rest in eternal peace. XO?

I loved Anne she was a wonderful caring person. I I joined Mary Kay cosmetics in 1976 I went to Dallas Texas for my first time ever for a convention. I was so excited and it was so much fun first time on a jet. That was the first of many trips I was going to take being a Mary Kay consultant. I spent many hours with Anne. God bless her and keep her in his hands I know she’s going to be missed so much by her family that loved her my condolences go out to all her loved ones.
Anne was my Mary Kay “lady” from the late 1970’s on. My girlfriend at Kodak introduced me to her because I couldn’t wear any makeup because I had such sensitive skin. Thank goodness for Anne and Mary Kay. Because of her I finally found a make up brand I could wear!!! What a gracious, lovely, and caring woman. It wasn’t just about ordering make up from her. It was a friendship through all of those years. I was very sad to hear how her health was failing a while back. I know she loved her family immensely. She would always fill me in on what her daughters were doing. She was so proud of them. I’m so grateful that I had the opportunity to know her as long as I did. She will be greatly missed.
Sorry for this beautiful loss. Joanne, you look just like your gorgeous mother, I know How much she meant to you. Love you!
Anne thank you for your leadership and legacy ?? (your sister Mary Kay director)
Janice, your Mom was such a beautiful lady. I am thinking of you all.
Anne, such wonderful times we had decorating your beautiful home. You would call me when you needed to change your toothbrush making sure it was the right color! I loved to surprise you with artificial flowers on the staircase when I knew you were entertaining. A warm heart as big as earth and a smile to go with it. You kept my wife Skip and me supplied with MaryKay and Mr.Kay. Jeanne, you used to play with our daughter, Noelle, and your father was my barber. We had tickets to your broadway show but you left and went to another one before we could see you. Skip and I drive by the house on Clover and always talk about Anne. You were the Queen of all Queens..
I became a MaryKay Consultant under Anne’s leadership in 1975. She was a wonderful inspiration and I was influenced by the MaryKay work ethic, God first, family 2nd and MaryKaylast. I was blessed by her encouragement and personal advice. She was beautiful, caring and thoughtful. May she rest in the Lord Jesus’ loving care! And may the family find comfort & peace in God the father!
So very sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. Didn’t know her for very long but she was a sweet, loving and funny lady. Met her at St Anns when my mom was there. Janice you were a wonderful daughter and advocate. Enjoyed the time we spent together.
