With a heavy heart, we announce Michael Lane – husband, father, brother, and friend – passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the age of 56.
Michael was born on January 12, 1964 in Syracuse, New York to Edward and Maureen (Flemming) Lane. He graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1987, when he still had a full head of hair. He married his soulmate and best friend, Linda Ann Colgan, on October 28, 1989. They raised two daughters, Meaghan and Marah, and one son, Ryan. He was known for his humor, his infectious smile, and his kind and loyal spirit.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Michael during his 56 years, among them: Love your family through everything, cherish the time you have with friends, and put others first. He instilled within us all a love for Star Wars, Rush (the band), and endless not-quite-needed historical facts. And most important, Michael reminded us to “just keep peddling.” He was strong through the end. We celebrate his life and remember the laughter he brought us all.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda, his three children, Meaghan (husband Jason), Ryan (wife Meagan), and Marah, mother, Maureen, four sisters, Colleen, Heather, Kathie, and Aubrey, and several sibling-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Michael has reunited with his father, Edward, mother-in-law, Bobbi, sister-in-law, Joanne, nephew, Spencer, and several amazing pets.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 5th, 2020 at Richard H Keenan Funeral Home on Pittsford Palmyra Rd from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 at Saint Catherine of Siena church on Mendon Ionia Road at 10:30 a.m. Donations or pictures-in-lieu-of-flowers may be sent to 181 Van Voorhis Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534.

Mike has left us way too early. We met at St. Bernard’s Institute where Mike was always curious and articulate. We most recently connected at the “Y”. I will miss his witt and extend my hearfelt sympathy to the family. (Deacon) Phil Yawman
