MARCH 30, 1972 – JULY 6, 2024
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful mother, daughter and sister after a brief battle with Acute Myloid Leukemia.
Debbie grew up in Fairport, NY. She attended school at St. John of Rochester, and graduated from Fairport High, studied Cosmetology and earned a New York State Cosmetology License. She worked as a hair stylist and for a period of time operated her own shop. She later decided to change careers and she enrolled at MCC with a goal of becoming a special education teacher. In the midst of her endeavor to become a school teacher, she was involved in a motor vehicle accident that would be the start of a long and arduous uphill battle for her. She would spend the following months doing everything within her power to make the best recovery she could. As the situation would continue to put her at every disadvantage it could, her unrelenting spirit would push her to persevere throughout this situation. Eventually the day would come when she would leave the hospital and become a wonderful and independent individual. Her recovery throughout this endeavor would become a symbol to her friends and family of how a great will and flourishing spirit can surpass any expectations that would be placed upon an individual even when the odds are against them. We will forever remember the magnitude of her efforts and will continue to be inspired by them.
She leaves behind two sons, James A. Lauko, Jr. and Joshua Ryan Lauko, her parents, John and Naomi Reichert, her brother, Daniel, her significant other Peter Springett, her Aunt Sue Ann and Uncle John Davis and several cousins from around the country.
She will be missed by all who knew her, her wonderful smile, her thoughtfulness and her ability to connect with everyone she met.
Friends and family members are invited to attend her Mass @ 11:00 AM on August 23, 2024, St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport, NY.
No prior calling hours.
The family requests no flowers.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Not a day goes by where I will not be sad that Deb is no longer with us. I miss her smile. I miss her stories. I miss her hugs. Memories of swimming, chatting and playing Crazy 8’s during family gatherings always brings me a smile. Memories of how much she loved her family and her pride in them always brings me a smile. I’m glad she was part of my life all these years. My very best to all who knew and loved her.
