Calvin “Cal” Leisten lived a simple yet happy life. One of his greatest joys was his annual vegetable garden. Cal took pride in growing the largest plants and the freshest veggies. When not at home, Cal could often be found enjoying a Genesee Cream Ale and playing pull-tab card games at the Fairport VFW, and for many years, quick draw at the Fairport Village Inn. Every bartender knew to have the salt-shaker at the ready for when Cal walked in. And many knew Cal simply as the “mayor of Fairport.”
Before retiring, Cal worked for more than thirty years as a bartender at Oak Hill Country Club. Many a golfer would look forward to their stop at the 19th hole with Cal, just to chat and hear stories about memories and events at the Club throughout the years. Calvin also worked for the NYS Highway Department, as well as for the Fairport Central School District for many years.
Calvin was loved and respected by everyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him. We can see him now, in Heaven, with his wife Pat, smiling down on us all. Cheers.

DUANE & family Sorry for your loss of one so dear to your hearts. May he rest in peace in his heavenly home.
My thoughts are with you in this loss. What a great man who was loved by all who knew him.
Sorry to hear of Cals passing. He sure did touch many hearts, including mine. He is now at peace with his wife and others. Thinking if you all.

We enjoyed knowing Cal ovet the years at Oak Hill. In the recent years Duane would bring Dad on jobs he did for me. JoAnne would make a large pot of Coffee for them. Duane stayed with his Dad during the difficult months not available for jobs. It was much more important to be with Dad. Dad would do the work too and was the driver.
Eternal sweet dreams to you my dear friend…you will forever be in my family’s thoughts and prayers! At least God and his angels will finally be able to get a good drink? If you are up there already, my dad has a beer with a salt shaker close by! Love eternal…Tommy Springer Jr. and family.
To all the Leisten family, I want to offer the condolences of the Oak Hill Staff from days gone by. Sorry I missed this or I would have been there. And the correct term for the golfer walking off the course and having a “Wedge” was to be “Calvinized!”
Micheal and Duanne I am so very sorry to hear of “pete’s” passing. I hold so many wonderful memories of my childhood with your dad and your mom and you boys . He will be truly missed
