Levesque, Shirley Seaver

Shirley Levesque passed away at home in Fairport, NY,  on August 12, 2022. Devoted daughter, wife, Mom and Memere was born July 16, 1935, in Dover, NH to Ralph and Agnes (Leveille) Seaver. She met the love of her life, Robert Levesque, at the University of New Hampshire. They were married on June 8, 1957, in Dover. Her husband preceded her in death in 2010.

Together Rob and Shirley enjoyed skiing and boating, including cruising the intercoastal waterway twice to Florida. Shirley took great pride in taking care of her family and home. She supported her husband as they moved about the country for his career having lived in Massachusetts, Ohio, New York, Texas, and back to New York. After retirement they moved to Naples, FL, continuing to spend summers in Western New York with their family.

Survived by children, Nadyne (Bill) Karas, Denise (Greg) West; grandchildren Robert (Jade) West, Roy (Sara Regelsberger) West, Dean (Grace Taylor) West, Jeremy (Andrea) Karas, Chris (Katrina) Karas; great grandchildren Timothy and Steven Karas, Cooper, Annabelle, Elise, Sylvie, and Gabriel Karas; brother-in-law, Edward Reardon; dear friend, Jerry Williams; her quirky cat, Essie, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Delnow and Doris Seaver, and Lorraine (Russell) Crockett.

Shirley was an avid bowler and golfer. She coached her children’s basketball and soccer teams and was an active fundraiser for band activities. Shirley ran four 5K races and placed first in her age group for each race! She was the confirmation sponsor for grandsons, Rob and Dean. She was a Eucharistic Minister at The Church of the Resurrection in Fairport, NY, and San Marco Catholic Church, Marco Island, FL. She volunteered for many years at NCH Urgent Care Center, Marco Island. Although she was not crafty, she created a beautiful quilt which she fondly named, “That Damn Quilt!” Mom enjoyed a good time with wine and/or scotch. She could easily whip up a quick toast for any occasion. Laughter often ensued.

    Nadyne and Denise.
My deepest sympathies to you both, and your families, on the loss of your dear mom. She was always the hit of the family gatherings with her good humor and infectious laughter. She and your dad were indeed the perfect couple. So very happy I got to see them both a few years back in Florida. I wish you both sweet memories and peace Going forward.

Denise and Nadyne, so sorry for your loss.. The bottom picture is how we’ll always remember our Florida neighbor. Our last lunch with her at Tavern on the Bay was a delight. We’ll all miss her at Tropic Schooner!
