Liberatore, Margaret (Peggy)

Margaret (Peggy) Liberatore, 86 of Fairport died at the Palliative Unit at Highland Hospital following a series of illnesses resulting in poor recovery from hip fracture surgery. Peggy was born in Geneva, NY where she lived until she was 6. She was raised in Delmar, NY. Then lived in Utica from 1957-1972. She has lived in Fairport, NY for the last 53 years. 

Peggy was the youngest of 3 girls. She graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 1957. She worked in banking and then at Griffiss Air Force base before leaving work to raise her children. In 1973 she returned to work part time working briefly in healthcare before beginning her long career in real estate office management retiring at 62 y/o. 

Peggy was known for her generous spirit and a big heart. She was a devout Catholic and a huge believer in volunteering, as both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, as well as working on many church committees, while assisting at the Fairport Baptist Home.   She always put her family first and cared for those she lovedwith deep conviction.  She lived by the example that sometimes sacrifice is necessary in raising a family. She was a voracious learner, who loved reading, travel, swimming, bowling, cooking and hostessing.   She filled her home with love and music, teaching her children their love of music, introducing them to folk, rock and pop. Her musical tastes varied from Tony Bennett, Elvis, Peter, Paul & Mary, Blood, Sweat and Tears to Rod Stewart, and Barbra Streisand. 

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (ex-Timothy) Conway, son John, grandchildren Jamison, Joshua, Neil, Abby and Maria. Her sister Sally Marley, sister-in-law Theresa Fehr and brother-in-law Bill (Eva) Liberatore, sister-in-law Elizabeth Liberatore, as well as many nieces and nephews. Also, dear family friends Fred and Ann Kulik and family. 

She is recently pre-deceased by her husband of 66 years, Robert Liberatore. Her parents, Gordon and Mildred (Ott) Hibbard and sister Patricia Blum. Her in-laws Anthony & Anna (Morlando) Liberatore; brothers and sisters-in-law and their spouses Anthony & Earl Liberatore, Phyllis Kaczowka, Angie (Roger) Ingersoll, Rosemary (Daniel) Valente, Nancy (James) Jankiewicz, and Alfred Zennamo Sr. 

Calling Hours will be held at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport, from 3-6 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at The Church of the Assumption 20 East Avenue, Fairport, NY.  A burial will take place following the funeral mass at Calvary Cemetery in Utica, NY at 1:30 pm.
