Fairport – January 20, 2023

Bob is survived and mourned deeply by his loving wife of 47 years Judith Lohr and three children Robert Lohr, Dorothy Kincaid, Thomas Lohr and wonderful daughter-in-law Kristine. Bob is also survived by grandchildren Jeffrey Kincaid, Aaron Kincaid, Brynn Lohr and Alyssa Lohr and great granddaughter Lily Kincaid. Additionally, Bob is survived by his brother, best friend and trout fishing partner, Donald Lohr, sister-in-law Barbara, nephew Michael Lohr, niece Kristine Lohr Witherspoon, her husband Robert, great niece Chloe and great nephew Henry.

Bob was pre-deceased by his parents Allen and Dorothy Lohr and first wife Eva Dunham Lohr.

Bob celebrated his 85th birthday on September 5, 2022 and was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Allen and Dorothy Lohr. He graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls and Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Xerox Corporation for 32 years in the toner division and received various awards including a US Patent for his excellent work. The family lived in Oklahoma City for 3 years in the 1970’s and Bob was part of a team that built a new Xerox toner plant and returned to Fairport where he retired from the Webster Xerox facility.

Bob’s lifelong love and passionate hobby was stream fishing, which he learned from his father Allen, and enjoyed with his brother Don. They had favorite fishing spots that they would return to over and over, year after year. Bob and Judy also traveled extensively visiting many places, both domestic and international. Bob was a faithful and active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served as an usher and member of the property committee for many years. He was also an integral member of their organ committee when the church sanctuary was rebuilt in the 1980’s. Bob enjoyed working in the yard, utilizing his greenhouse for starting plants in the spring. He also enjoyed playing cards and games, especially with Brynn and Alyssa, and some of his favorites were Euchre, Cribbage and Yahtzee.

The family wants to thank the amazing staff at St. John’s Greenhouses in Fairport for their care and compassion while Bob lived there. They became Bob and Judy’s second family. We can never thank them enough.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 48 Perrin Street, Fairport NY 14450.

Internment will be held privately with arrangements by Keenan Funeral Homes.

Memorial Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s Investment in Ministries Fund or St. John’s Penfield Greenhouse, 75 Sonoma Drive, Fairport, NY.

Bob was among a group of Xerox employees who were extremely talented and also fun to work with. My sincere condolences go to his family. I would at times run into Bob fishing on Irondequoit Creek. He was a very good fisherman and an all around great guy. May he now be blessed with eternal peace and joy. Al Monahan

Bob and I were the AME presence in OKC after the photo plant shut down. He was my boss and we both reported to Tom Commeta but had to work under Harry Hawkey. Bob was the best and nicest guy I worked for and he taught so much about working with people. We also played a lot of bridge at lunchtime. My condolences to his family.

Bob was a wonderful coworker and friend.. We spent many lunch hours playing Bridge. I am reminded of one of his trademark technical innovations was the “Lohr Gram.”. These were graphs showing how the data from a particular experiment behaved, but the major feature was many comments on the graph to explain what the data were telling us.

May his family be consoled by the fact that as a man of God, he is now in Heaven enjoying the company of of Jesus.

Mostly I remember Bob from my times spent working for Xerox Corp. and especially the Oklahoma City project from
The very beginning. He was a very smart man and soft spoken. His interaction with team members was at the highest levels. He was key to the success and start up of the OKC plant.

My sincere condolences to his wife and beautiful family. May he rest in peace with the Lord

The world has lost a gentle, faithful child of God, a father who led by example and patience, a beloved husband, and my best friend. He patiently taught me to fish, we played cribbage, but, perhaps, what I remember most are the times we met early for breakfast, before work. We ate, we talked, we prayed, we discussed Bible passages, and sometimes we cried – we were friends. Bob helped me through some tough times. He was a good enough friend to let me know when I was wrong – and be with me even then. I can’t wait to meet him again in the home God has prepared for His children. To Judy and all his family – please know you are all in my prayers. Dan Juers
