Bob passed away peacefully on July 4, surrounded by family. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Carol, his parents, Cosmos and Concetta Maddamma, and his father- and mother-in-law, William and Anna Stratemeier. He is survived by his sister Vera (John) Rudzik, his daughter Hope (John) Vogel, and his sons Robert (Susan) and Thomas Maddamma, grandchildren Kayla (Robert) Stimmel and Sean (Heather) Vogel, Mary Beth and Robert Maddamma, and Garrett, Zachery and Aiden Maddamma, and countless family and friends.
Bob was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He married Carol in 1962, and they were devoted to each other for 59 years through Carol’s passing. He proudly served in the United States Army as a missile guidance technician following high school. After his honorable discharge, he was hired by Xerox Corporation (despite challenging his interviewer over a schematic). He started repairing copiers and ended up as a Vice President of Worldwide Service and Equipment Operations for XESystems, Inc., spending 40 years with the company. After a brief retirement, he joined Transcat, a calibration services company, where he was Vice President of North American Operations. Bob served on several boards, dedicating much of his time and talents to Ability Partners and the former Wesley Community.
Bob was a proud graduate of the University of Rochester’s William E. Simon Graduate School of Business, earning an MBA in 1981. He immediately served as adjunct faculty at Rochester Institute of Technology teaching undergraduate business courses, then taught courses at the Simon School at various times through 2023.
A man of deep faith, Bob and was an active parishioner at St. John of Rochester for 53 years, serving as a eucharistic minister and participating in the parish’s men’s club, bible study, Christ Life, and annual retreats.
Bob was much admired and respected by all who knew him, and he endeavored at all times to make people’s lives better. He was generous in every sense of the word. He loved his family unconditionally and was often the first call when advice was needed. He had a ready smile, a terrific sense of humor and was quick-witted. He exhibited all of these wonderful qualities even as he endured terrible physical health over his final 18 months, facing it all with strength and grace. He was an inspiration in how to live life and, ultimately, face death.
Please join us in celebrating Bob’s amazing life at Calling Hours on Sunday, July 20, from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Egypt Location) 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road, Fairport. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John of Rochester Catholic Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport, New York, on Monday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m., with interment immediately following at White Haven Memorial Park. The Funeral Mass will also be livestreamed at https://stjohnfairport.org/streaming.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to Ability Partners Foundation to help continue their work he championed in servicing the community.

I only had the pleasure of spending time one evening with Bob at his son’s home Thomas, for a Great Dinner. Sometimes is does not take very long to feel and appreciate something special about someone you are meeting for the first time. This was my experience with Bob. A True Real Person to be around. I only wish I had a 2nd chance to spend more time with the Very Special Man.
The Veterans Outreach Center extends our deepest sympathy in Robert’s passing.
We acknowledge and are truly grateful for his service to our country.
Bob’s smile and presence will be missed at SJR. My thoughts are with you all during this time.
My sincere condolences for the loss of your father.

My condolences to the Maddamma Family especially to Hope and Sue as I knew the both very well. Prayers for your family during a very difficult time.
RIP Bob.
I worked with Bob for many years at Xerox and I considered him a close friend. He was a very hard worker and I always found him to be very bright, kind, happy, dependable, level headed and a real team player. We had a special connection because of our mutual Pittsburgh Roots and we shared first down chain duties at Junior Football Games when our Son’s played on the same team. My sincere condolences to Bob’s family & may he rest in the Peace which he absolutely deserves for having lived such a righteous life.
I’ve never felt so honored and special to become a part of the Maddamma Family. The moment I met Tom’s father he immediately became my second Dad. His presence and aura is so powerful, nurturing, genuine and caring. He is and will always be one of the brightest lights that I’ve come to know and love – he’s the highest level of a father, friend, mentor, listener and human being. I wish I could have spent more time with you Dad. You have stamped a rare existence in life and I know you’re doing the same in heaven with your beloved wife and family. I love you and appreciate you creating such an amazing son in Tom. I miss you and will forever cherish our memories together even though short lived. Thank you Dad for all you’ve done for me and my family. Always and Forever – Farrah
Hope, Bob, Tom & families,

I am late receiving this very sad news, being alerted to the possible loss by the missing Christmas card last year and taking time to track down the information. I was Bob’s colleague in Xerox Engineering Systems from 1991 to 1998 martinis the UK and then the European operations whilst Bob ran the USA and the worldwide operations. He was always a delight to work with. He and Carol welcomed my wife and I to their home in Rochester when we made a post retirement visit some years back now. We spent a lovely time there. It is a true sadness that he has been lost to us and he will be remembered with great affection.
