MALORZO, GIOVANNI JOSEPH, (Jo Jo) 26 years old, of Penfield, NY. It is with the heaviest of hearts we share that our beloved Giovanni unexpectedly was taken from us on Saturday, March 25, 2023, leaving behind his enormous collection of NASCAR & sports memorabilia along with a massive collection of tools. Our families along with the many friends of Giovanni are devastated and heart broken by this news.
Giovanni was born on February 13, 1997. He is survived by his devoted, loving parents Bonnie Jo & Michael Quitsch, Tory & Stephanie Malorzo. Siblings: Stephen (Meg) Dash, step-brother & Cassie (Ryan) Schwedfeger, step-sister. Giovanni is also survived by his adoring grandparents: Mary Ellen Dalberth, Bradford, NY, Dieter & Judith Quitsch, Penfield, NY, Gary & Karen Becker. He is survived by several heart-broken aunts & uncles: Diane Briscoe, Savona, NY, Arthur (Maureen) Dalberth, Gates, NY, Charles (Katherine) Dalberth, Apopka, FL, Deborah Dalberth, Apopka, FL, John Dalberth, Livonia, NY. Giovanni is survived by numerous deeply saddened cousins, nieces and a nephew.
Giovanni is predeceased by his beloved Papa, Charles (Charlie) Dalberth, Bradford, NY, & loving aunt, Erin Dalberth, Livonia, NY.
Giovanni graduated from Penfield High school in 2015. Giovanni was an impressive athlete playing Hockey and Lacrosse for Penfield teams along with several travel teams where he made many lasting friendships. Immediately after graduating he moved to Apopka, Florida to enroll at Universal Technical Institute to pursue his dream of becoming an automotive mechanic following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Charlie, and shared their passion for automobiles. He graduated in 2018, moved back to NY to start his career as a mechanic at Dorschel in Henrietta, NY. When his grandfather Charlie passed, he willed all of his tools to Giovanni stating, “he’s the only one who knows how to turn a wrench.” Giovanni was a hard worker and model employee very rarely missing a day of work. He enjoyed working on cars and tweaking them to get the most performance out of an engine. Giovanni was loved by so many people because of his kind heart, beautiful smile and willingness to always help a friend. He helped so many during his short life. He enjoyed summer and being able to ride his jet ski on the various lakes in upstate NY. He was always cheerful and a pleasure to be around. He was a bright light in this world. Giovanni was also well known for his polite mannerism. He was always respectful to the older generation – melting hearts with his smile and kind words. If he didn’t win you over with his smile he surely would get you with his big gorgeous brown eyes. He loved his German Shepherd, Beara. He spent countless hours tossing her Lacrosse balls. His greatest pleasure was hanging out with family and friends. Loved family get togethers. Giovanni was amazingly talented in so many ways. (Xanax) He was smart with a wonderful sense of humor. He could not have been loved any more than he was. Giovanni never met anyone that wasn’t an immediate friend. Giovanni will be greatly missed by many in his community.

I’m still in shock that I’m even writing this… Giovanni was one of my best friends growing up and we kept in touch over the years. I saw him so recently and yet it feels like ages ago. I am so sad. Giovanni was there for me when I needed people most and put time aside for me when I was in town and definitely made me feel better. I have the last text he sent me and he was making fun of me and telling me some funny stories which seem to be what we always did when we spoke. I have so many thoughts right now and I have nothing else to say but I will miss you cuz. 143.
