Manzella, Charles S.

Charles S Manzella

May 26, 2023.  Charles S Manzella was born in Rochester, NY to Charles and Joesphine Manzella of Laurelton Road.  He attended Aquinas High School and graduated Niagara University in 1966.  Charles proudly served in the US Army from 1966-1969.  He married Janet A Nowicki in 1966.  Charles S Manzella II was born in 1968 and David Manzella in 1971.

Charles ran a tax and business services practice in Fairport, NY for most of his adult life.  He was a regular fixture at local restaurants and enjoyed interacting with the community.  In 1996, Charles and Janet moved to Sanibel, Florida, where he opened a second tax practice.  Living in Sanibel was his dream and he lived there until he moved back to Rochester in 2020.

Charles loved meeting new people, but also cherished old friends.  He loved talking to people and made friends quickly wherever he went.  Although Alzheimer’s robbed him of his memory, he never lost his joy for human connection.

Charles also loved cars, especially the 1950 Riley convertible he had restored and loved to drive around Rochester and later, Sanibel Island.  He also owned many American classics and German convertibles.

Charles is predeceased by his parents Charles and Josephine and by his sister Roslyn.  Charles is survived by Janet Manzella, his brothers Bob Manzella of Bath, NY, and Tom Manzella of Santa Monica, CA.  His sons Charles Manzella of Fairport  NY and David Manzella of Loveland, CO.  He has four grandchildren:  Maggie, Emmett, Guthrie and Bergen.  He loved to hear about their accomplishments and adventures.

Charles will be missed by his family and friends.  Please join us for a Celebration of Life July 1, 2023 from 10-12 pm at Eagle Vale Golf Club.  4344 Fairport-Nine Mile Point Road, Fairport, NY 14450.  Coffee and light breakfast will be served as we remember and share stories of Charles. Please RSVP to Manzella.memorial@gmail.com if you plan on attending.   Please specify the number of guests coming.  In lieu of flowers, in honor of Charles, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
