Blanche V. Martin, 100, of Fairport, NY, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026.
People were always drawn to Blanche’s warm and sweet personality. She held a position assisting in a high school guidance program and was a beacon for troubled students. She loved her home, gardening, sewing, and reading. Blanche so appreciated her time with her girlfriends playing mahjong, bridge and board games.
She and her husband of 64 years, were high school sweethearts. They spent many wonderful times boating with friends in Fairhaven and snowmobiling in Brantingham. The good memories grew when they began wintering in Florida. New friends developed into a close-knit group that added immensely to their lives.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob,” and her son, Robert Jr. “Bobby.” She was also predeceased by her parents, Celina and Marrienus, and her brothers.
Blanche is survived by her daughters, Bonnie and Sandy. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Michael, Corinne (Mark), Ashley, Rob (Michelle), and Lynne (Michael). She was blessed with three great-grandchildren: Hannah, Piper, and Luke—all of whom brought her joy in her later years.
Blanche’s century-long journey was filled with love, resilience, and treasured memories. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and the many lives she touched with her kindness.

I just heard of Blanche passing. She was such a special, kind, and thoughtful person. I just love spending time with her. I know she will be truly missed by her loving family. Sending you all love.
So sorry to hear about the passing of Blanche. After we retired from NY we started using our condo in Oceana & met Bob & Blanche. Joan & Arlene included me in their luncheons & I got to become very fond of Blanche. She was a wonderful kind person. RIP dear Blanche.
We are so very sorry to learn of Blanch’s passing. She was kind, gentle, warm, and smart. We always enjoyed spending time with her. It’s hard to believe that she is no longer with us. Her family and friends will greatly miss her.
I am so saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend Blanche. She was always a joy to be around. I just spoke to her recently and she was still as sharp as ever. We had so much fun every winter in Florida. My thoughts and prayers are with Bonnie and Sandy and the rest of her family

We were so sorry to hear of Blanche’s passing. She was a wonderful person who always greeted everyone with a smile. Blanche was kind, thoughtful and ready with a story. Our family enjoyed spending time with Blanche in New York and Florida.
Blanche is a cousin to Lawrence Vanderlee (my father). He and my mother Grace were also snowbirds on Hutchinson Island in Florida. They would often meet Bob and Blanche for dinner and social outings.
Then Blanche and my mother both had apartments at Parkwood Heights in Macedon. They often had dinner together and socialized.
Blanche and my mother turned 100 years old within weeks of each other. They were able to honor their milestones at each other’s celebrations.

Blanche was my next door neighbor for over 50 years. She was so much fun to be with and I will always have fond memories of sharing gab sessions with her on her back porch. I will truly miss her laugh and our long friendship.
