Fairport/Dansville – JoAnn (Morf) Martin, 79 of Fairport, NY died unexpectedly on Friday, September 27th 2019. She was the daughter of Rita Mayer and Francis Pelletier and was born in Dansville, NY October 30th 1939. She graduated from Charlotte High School in Rochester, NY and moved to Dansville upon marrying Dan Martin in 1959. She owned and operated Martin’s Tax Service in Dansville for 28 years and was licensed as a Notary Public. She was a past Director of St. Mary’s Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, Chamber of Commerce, Noyes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served as a Director and Secretary-Treasurer of the United Way of Dansville for 32 years. JoAnn was a past member of the Dansville Women’s Civic Club and served as a volunteer at Noyes Memorial Hospital. She sold her income tax business and moved to Fairport, NY in 2006. While living in Fairport, she was a Director of Senior Options for Independence, and a member of the Fairport Settlers, Razzamatazz Red Hat and Lovely Ladies’ Luncheons.
She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Dan, mother Rita Thurston, father Francis Pelletier and step fathers, Edwin Morf and Newton (Bob) Thurston, She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hayes (Robert) of Fairport, NY., son David Martin Sr. (Ailyn) of Keansburg, NJ., two grandchildren, David Jr. and Desiree’, brother Bob (Elaine) Morf of Dansville, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 4-6 PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home (Eygpt Location), where a Service will immediately follow. Interment Friday 11 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to URMC Cardiology in JoAnn’s memory. 585-273-5472.

Mom JoAnn was a wonderful person, that always made me laugh. Dawn, Rob and family hold your loving memories close to heart and she will always be with you.

She caught up with the SOB. I will never forget the look on the Priest face when we came into Church with Dan. I always enjoyed my time with Joann, Newt and Rita. Lisa and I are away on holiday or we would be with you.
